Smoking For Jesus Ministry "On Fire For The Lord" Rev 3:16
Smoking for JESUS Ministry is a 501©3 which mission is to reach the neighborhoods and surrounding areas with the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ by preaching and teaching sound bible based doctrine to disciple souls. We are a non-denominational fellowship of believers, founded by Elder Willie Monnet, Sr., in December of 1996. Originally,
the ministry was located in New Orleans, Louisiana until August 29, 2005, when Hurricane Katrina destroyed the church facilities as well as the homes of many of its members. Currently, we now reside in Burnet, Texas. For the over thirty years Pastor Monnet has held a Men’s Bible study which primarily focuses on helping men incorporate biblical principals to solve male issues of leadership in business, home and the community. The premise is that as men take their god-given role of responsibility as leaders, firstly by respecting GOD and submitting to HIS authority in their lives, then the women and children will follow their example. Our Ministry is focused on saving souls and ministering to the least of the brethren. This includes rehabilitation centers, homeless shelters, prisons and anywhere else God may lead. Through many challenges, God has made us a value in the community and a witness to His glory and majesty. This ministry has reached hundreds of men, women and children in New Orleans, LA, Texas and its surrounding areas as well as globally via the internet. In August 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated our church community and most of our congregation’s homes. Under Pastor Monnet’s leadership, he brought nearly 200 people including members, friends and relatives out of harm’s way; he only imagined that our evacuation be no more than 3 days. Three weeks later, the Gulf Coast was struck again by hurricane Rita, making it impossible to return to New Orleans. The details of our exodus are a modern day comparison to Moses leading the children of Israel from Egypt. This journey lasted more than 40 days. The church eventually settled down in Burnet, Texas (60 miles west of Austin, Texas). Under his vigilant care, several discipleship and outreach ministries within the ministry have been birthed. These ministries were in effect in New Orleans before hurricanes Katrina and Rita and are now growing in numbers in the Hill Country of Burnet Texas.
