Today, I am proud to welcome new members into the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and celebrate the formation of new lodges throughout New Jersey.

Many people have a rich family history connected to the Odd Fellows, while others are discovering our great Order for the very first time. Whether you are inspired by our traditions, our charitable works, or our commitment to making our communities and the world a better place, there has never been a better time to join.

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows is one of the oldest fraternal organizations in the world, founded on the principles of Friendship, Love, and Truth. We are dedicated to helping those in need, strengthening our communities, and building lasting friendships that span generations.

As Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of New Jersey, Independent Order of Odd Fellows for 2026–2027, my primary focus is welcoming new members and establishing new lodges across our great state. The future of our Order depends on growth, engagement, and a shared commitment to service.

Today at the Historic Odd Fellows Cemetery Burlington, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a sacred reminder of the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who defended our freedoms.

As we walk among the historic grounds of this beautiful cemetery, we are reminded that generations of Americans gave everything so future generations could live in liberty and peace. May we never forget their sacrifice.

The Board of Trustees of the Odd Fellows Cemetery Burlington has been hard at work preserving the rich history and dignity of this sacred ground and its beautiful mausoleum. Every effort we make is guided by a commitment to honor those who came before us while ensuring this historic property remains a place of peace, reflection, and remembrance for generations to come.

Founded in the 19th century by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF), the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Burlington, New Jersey stands as a lasting testament to the Order’s mission—to visit the sick, relieve the distressed, bury the dead, and educate the orphan. For over a century, the cemetery has served the community with compassion, providing a final resting place rooted in dignity, charity, and brotherhood.

Established in the mid-19th century, the Historic Odd Fellows Cemetery in Burlington, New Jersey has stood as a place of dignity, remembrance, and community service for over 170 years. Founded around 1854, this sacred ground reflects the deep roots of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Burlington—an organization active locally since the 1800s and dedicated to caring for its members and the broader community.

More than just a cemetery, it represents a powerful mission: to ensure that every individual—receives a respectful and proper burial. This principle comes directly from the core teachings of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, whose guiding purpose has long been:

🏛️ A Burlington Tradition of Fellowship & Service: Burlington Lodge #22 I.O.O.F. & Odd Fellows Cemetery

Burlington has a deep fraternal history—and Burlington Lodge #22 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.) is a big part of it. The Odd Fellows have been active in Burlington since the mid-1800s, built around the timeless values of Friendship, Love, and Truth and a mission of community service and mutual aid.

One of the most visible legacies of that service is the Odd Fellows Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum in Burlington. Established “since 1854”, the cemetery has served generations of local families—preserving the stories of veterans, civic leaders, working families, and neighbors who helped shape Burlington County.
