Last Friday was the 33 year anniversary of the election of the Rt. Rev. Mary Adelia McLeod as our 9th Bishop.

The first female Diocesan Bishop in the Episcopal Church, Bishop McLeod helped to pave the way for all of the female Diocesan Bishops in the Episcopal Church and wider Anglican Communion.

A religious barrier broken by a Vermont woman, on this day in history.

Happy Pride Episcopalians!

In this year, which marks the 50 year anniversary of the full inclusion of LGBTQ+ persons in The Episcopal Church, The Episcopal Diocese of Vermont is thrilled to celebrate Pride and all LGBTQ+ Vermonters and Episcopalians.

O God, you are made visible through the incarnation of Jesus Christ our Savior, and you call us to make you visible in the world: we thank you for creating each of us in your image. Strengthen us to bear witness to your infinite beauty as we change from glory into glory, steadfast in the knowledge that we are your beloved children and celebrating the beauty in one another; through your beloved child Jesus, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
