Not Just a Store but, a Ministry
Ms. Sharon Flowers is a dedicated wife , active community member and small business owner, committed to providing customers with a quality community store and access to a variety Christian books, resources and more. Her desire is to see churches, families, and youth grow and develop in their faith. She believes that her Christian book store is more than a business but, a ministry God has blessed her with to spread God’s love to all. It was truly a leap of faith for her to open a book store in a time when Christian books stores are closing their doors at an all time high .
A recent article “predicted that Christian book stores will soon be a thing of the past in 2017, “one of the world's largest retailer of Christian-themed merchandise," declared it would shutter all of its 240 stores across America and lay off 3,000 employees. The 85-year-old chain said that "changing consumer behavior and declining sales" left it no choice. ...........Christian bookstores may well be destined for the history books.”(Jonathan Merritt)
Against all odds Ms. Sharon Flowers believes that the Christian Ministry is still a relevant and vital ministry. She advocates for small and local business because, she feels they are the heart beat of a true thriving community! Although the big retailers can lower their prices due to being able to buy more merchandise at cheaper prices, she believes there is a greater reward in supporting the people who are invested in the communities in which they serve. She makes it her business to engage with all who comes into her store.
She knows most of her customers by name and has a huge prayer box in her store where customers can leave a prayer request in which she pray’s for on a consistent basis. The Christian message is NOT a thing of the past it’s the hope of today and the promise we can stand on for tomorrow. WITH God all things are possible!
