BUMC Web-Site Issues
If you are having difficulty reaching the BUMC web site, you may need to clear the cache of your web browser.
Clearing your browser cache can fix loading issues and speed up performance by forcing the browser to download the most recent version of a website. Below are the steps for the most popular desktop browsers and mobile platforms.
Desktop Browsers
• Google Chrome: Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner, then select Delete browsing data. Choose a time range (e.g., All time), check the box for Cached images and files, and click Delete data.
o Shortcut: Press Ctrl + Shift + Del (Windows/Linux) or Command + Shift + Delete (Mac).
• Safari (Mac): Click Safari in the top menu bar and select Settings (or Preferences), then go to the Privacy tab. Click Manage Website Data and select Remove All.
o Advanced option: Enable the Develop menu in Settings under Advanced, then select Develop > Empty Caches from the menu bar.
• Microsoft Edge: Click the three dots (...) in the top-right corner, go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services, and find the Clear browsing data section. Click Choose what to clear, set the time range to All time, check Cached images and files, and click Clear now.
• Mozilla Firefox: Click the three bars (≡) in the top-right corner, select Settings, then go to Privacy & Security. In the Cookies and Site Data section, click Clear Data, ensure Temporary cached files and pages is checked, and click Clear.
Mobile Platforms
• Android (Chrome): Open the Chrome app, tap the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner, and select Settings. Tap Privacy and security > Clear browsing data, choose your time range, select Cached images and files, and tap Clear data.
• iPhone/iPad (Safari): Open the system Settings app, scroll down and tap Safari, then select Clear History and Website Data. Confirm by tapping Clear History and Data.
• iPhone/iPad (Chrome): Open the Chrome app, tap the three dots (⋮), and select Settings > Privacy > Clear Browsing Data. Select Cached Images and Files and tap Clear Browsing Data at the bottom.
Pro-tip: For many desktop browsers, you can also perform a "Hard Refresh" to clear the cache for just the current page by pressing Ctrl + F5 (Windows) or Command + Shift + R (Mac).
