2 Corinthians 6:1-2 NLT
As God’s partners, we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it. 2 For God says,
“At just the right time, I heard you.
On the day of salvation, I helped you.”
Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.

The Lord woke me up this morning at 4:44 am, which always means he is up to calming the "rattle" in my brain and directing me to pray for someone. Thank you for your prayers as Gretchen and I took our first-ever vacation in our 25 years together. We celebrated our 25th Anniversary and Gretchen's birthday in one of the most beautiful places in the world! A short flight from Seattle and a place to rest with some of the kindest people who served us and allowed us to share what Jesus has done in our marriage and ministry.

We feel refreshed and blessed to be a part of Calvary Baptist Church and a leadership that is out of this world! Thank you for knowing that ministry is never about any one person, but the collective service of all of us together in the body of Christ to know Christ and to make Him known!

And... we are glad to be back... too hot in Mexico for me! Wonderful to visit, but blessed to live where we live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest!😉😉😉

Thought for the Day:

1 Peter 1:13-16 NLT
13 So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. 14 So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. 15 But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you, is holy. 16 For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”

The above verses reflected in my own words...

Prepare your mind for action!
Exercise the Holy Spirit-given fruit of self-control, which, by the way, you can't just "muster" self-control up!
Put every ounce of hope ONLY in the gracious salvation found only in Jesus Christ.
Be obedient children of God!
Don't keep slipping back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own selfish desires!
I know you didn't know any better, but that was the old you!
It's time to be holy in everything you do, because that is why God made you and why he chose you, to be holy!
See him as Holy and not as a Superman... you will miss the point and forget that he is holy in his love and holy in his justice!
If you look at God as just a Superman, you will not recognize him as more than that, and you will not take your love for him seriously! Misunderstand his holiness and justice, and you will whine like a baby when he drops the hammer on your disobedience!
