Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd Good Shepherd is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds to join our worship services.

Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry has released a statement on the shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego.

“As the ELCA, we must speak plainly: violence rooted in hatred is sin. We condemn Islamophobia and acknowledge its rise in recent years. Our church affirms that “anti-Muslim hatred is antithetical to our Christian faith” (A Declaration of the ELCA to the Muslim Community), for we are called to love our neighbor in ways that cast out fear (1 John 4:18).”

Important Worship Update for Sunday
After much prayer and discussion, Good Shepherd will be introducing a new worship policy:
the first three rows will now be considered the official “Amen Section.”

Those seated there will be expected to:

nod enthusiastically during the sermon
laugh at at least one joke, even if it is only mildly funny
and help start the singing when everyone else pretends they don’t know the first line

Coffee privileges remain unchanged.
