Tonight, before our Midweek Experience, our students will be having a time of prayer and seeking the Lord about the new year 5786.

They'll be reading their bibles, (specifically the new testament letter for 1 Timothy), praying for their families and friends, and listening directly to the Spirit of God about this new year.

How could you join in? Consider praying for our students as they take their next steps in their walk with Jesus and celebrate all that God is revealing during this time. You can also consider sponsoring one of the meals that we feed our students each Sunday and Wednesday.

Yesterday we began our Guardians of the Teenagers series and our study of the Old Testament book of Judges.

Our students explored some powerful revelations from Judges 1 and 2 including:

Compromise comes at a cost!
The people of Israel experienced this in a big way and we can learn from their history and choose to honor God with the opportunities we have to live obedient to God.

Guardianship = Ownership
Who is going to show up, take ownership and honor God by declaring, "No, it's not going to be like this anymore. We're going to say and do things God's way from now on."

And that if something doesn't challenge you, it's likely not going to change you!

Tomorrow (Student Gathering 11am) we begin Guardians of the Teenagers! Student Ministry will be seeking the Lord as we study the book of Judges. That's right, Judges!

Judges is all about realizing that having a savior nearby to rescue you when you want is not the same thing as Father God being the Lord of your life and the King of your heart! It's also about God calling for something to be said and done and the conviction of remaining loyal to what God has said!

So here we go. God's call for teenage hearts has been alive and active for thousands of years.

Judges 21v25 says, "In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did whatever seemed right to him."

We declare, our students have a King! He's THE Guardian and his Gospel invites teenagers to live on purposeful mission with him 24/7!

(We might have some cosmic competitions and dance offs over the next 6 weeks, too!)
