We're gearing up for a possible winter weather event this weekend, with temperatures expected to dip into the freezing range and the potential for wintry precipitation. ❄️

Please remember that the police station lobby (302 W. Henderson St.) will serve as a temporary warming station with restroom access and water. You can find other temporary shelters at findhelp.org.

We are feeling incredibly blessed today! We want to shine a light on the amazing work happening at the HIM Food Bank. Their dedication to feeding our community is a true reflection of love in action. ❤️

To support their mission, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was honored to deliver half a semi-truck full of fresh milk this week.

Providing nutrition to God’s children is a responsibility we all share, and it’s a joy to partner with organizations that work so tirelessly to make sure no one goes hungry.

Volunteers are also needed to help pack up the food every Wednesday. Volunteers meet at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Building D, 777 N. Walnut Creek Drive, to stage and pack more than 400 bags of food, containing two kid-friendly breakfasts, snacks and lunches, that will help children in need eat through the weekend.

September is Hunger Action Month — a time to come together and fight food insecurity in our community.

A big thank you to Innate’s Touch Chiropractic for hosting a food drive to benefit our Free Food Market! Their generosity couldn’t come at a better time — just yesterday, our market served a record 41 neighbors in one day. The need in our community is real, and every donation makes a difference.
