Gap church

Gap church They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: "Amen!

We see the gap church as a dynamic, spirit-filled, multi-cultural church, numbering in the thousands, impacting our city, our nation and our world through leadership development and
church planting. About Our Vision

A Scriptural Meditation on our Vision
Ezekiel 22:30
30 “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would no

t have to destroy it, but I found no one.

“To stand in the gap with boldness and compassion, following Jesus Christ as we build up the wall together”

I see a Church so compassionate that people are drawn from impossible situations into a loving and friendly circle of hope, where answers are found and acceptance is given. After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. And they cried out in a loud voice: "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb." All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!" (Revelation 7:11-12; NIV)

Three things from his vision stand out to me. First, people from “every nation, tribe, people and language” are gathered around God’s throne. In other words, individuals from diverse cultures, class and upbringing have been brought together because of a common interest that somehow transcends their differences. Second, these people are consumed in enthusiastic worship. They are crying in a loud voice. Their worship is exuberant, passionate and filled with gratitude. And lastly, their white robes testify to their righteousness. In other passages from the Revelation (Revelation 3:4-5; 7:14), we learn the significance of the robes—these are saints who have “overcome”. They have been purified, and are considered worthy to be in the presence of the Lamb.

Good morning gap church! What an exciting day—He is risen!

Today we celebrate Jesus Christ, knowing that our sins have been forgiven and forgotten at the cross. Because He lives, He holds the keys over death and hell, and no power can stand against Him—or against us as His people.

He is our Lord and Savior, our hope, and our victory.

Wishing everyone a truly blessed and joyful Easter!

Good morning, gap church family.

We are beginning Holy Week, and for me, this time can feel a little overwhelming. There are so many emotions—sadness, joy, love, grace, and the weight of the cross—all crossing my mind at once. Sometimes it’s hard to fully process everything this week represents.

We’ve just come through the 40 days of the Lenten season, walking through sacrifice and reflection, and now we turn our hearts toward the cross and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is the most powerful reminder of what He has done for us.

My prayer for you today is this: that you truly know Him—not just in your mind, but personally in your heart. Without Jesus, we have no Savior. But because of Him, we have hope, healing, and a promise that goes far beyond anything this world can offer.

He has already prepared a place for us. That truth alone should cause us to pause, reflect, and draw closer to Him.

So as you walk through this week, take time to stop, to remember, and to rest in His goodness. Reflect on the love of Jesus Christ and what He has done for you.

I love you all. I’m praying for you. Let’s walk through this week with grateful hearts and a deeper appreciation for our Savior.

Good morning gap church family,

I realize I’ve been posting more on my personal page lately and not as much here, but I want you to know, this page is still alive and active. I love you all, and I’m grateful for each of you who are part of this online community.

Last week, I shared from John chapter 5…the story of the man who had been lying by the pool of Bethesda for 38 years. He believed in something that couldn’t truly heal him, yet he felt stuck. Maybe that’s where some of you are today, feeling stuck, putting your hope in things that just aren’t helping. I get that… I think we all do at times.

Sometimes we stay stuck longer than we ever wanted to.

But then Jesus shows up.

In the middle of a messy situation, surrounded by a crowd, Jesus saw the one. That reminds me that He sees each of us individually, and He still comes to us right where we are.

When Jesus asked the man if he wanted to be healed, the man didn’t say yes, he made an excuse. He said, “Every time the water is stirred, someone else gets there before me.” How often do we feel like that? Like everyone else is getting ahead, everyone else is winning, and we’re just… stuck.

We can get so overwhelmed, emotionally, spiritually, even physically that we stop seeing a way out.

But here’s the truth: Jesus is still there. He loves you. And He always makes a way.

I just want you to know, I’m trying too. I want to become as close a follower of Jesus as I can be. I don’t even fully know what that looks like yet, but I’m pursuing it every day.

Love you guys.

Good morning gap church

I was in a local grocery store a couple years ago, shopping in the produce section, when I noticed they were out of bagged salad. I saw a guy across the aisle near the avocados and asked if there was any more in the back. He told me it wasn’t his department and that the person who handled that area was at lunch.

So I asked him who could help me.

Long story short, I finally said, “If you don’t want to help, then forget it.”

Apparently, he didn’t like that—because he came running over to me saying,
“You have an attitude and you need Jesus.”

Now listen… if that guy hadn’t been twice my size, I would’ve needed Jesus right then and there.

But that moment got me thinking.

That’s exactly what we do as the Church.

People walk in hurt.
Broken.
Disappointed by the world.
Soul-searching.
Looking for answers. Looking for hope. Looking for help.

And too often, our response is an attitude wrapped in religion.

You’re not married and you’re pregnant?
— You need Jesus.

You’re an alcoholic? Struggling with drugs?
— You need Jesus.

Your spouse beat the hell out of you?
— It was probably your fault… you need Jesus.

Mental health struggles?
— You need Jesus.

You’re gay?
— You need Jesus.

You’ve had an abortion?
— For heaven’s sake… you need Jesus.

As if Jesus is a weapon instead of a healer.
As if grace is conditional.
As if love has prerequisites.

I believe the Church was never meant to be a museum for the saints,
but a hospital for the hurting.

And if you don’t hear anything else I say, hear this:

We are all messed up.
Every single one of us.
And it’s only by the love of Jesus that we are made whole.

Jesus was never afraid of messy situations.
He stepped into the mess.
Into broken lives.
Into shame.
Into pain.
Into stories that didn’t look good on the outside.

And He still does.

Because only Jesus can take your mess
and turn it into a miracle.
Many blessings!

Good morning gap church

Religion often uses guilt and fear to keep people trapped in a cycle.

You need to come to church more.
You need to read your Bible more.
You need to pray more.
You need more faith.
You need to stop sinning.
You need to stop drinking.
You need to stop…

The list never ends.

And if we’re not careful, we keep coming back—drinking from the same dirty well—hoping this time it will satisfy.

But freedom doesn’t come through religion.
Freedom comes through Jesus Christ.

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
—Matthew 11:28–30

If it’s heavy… if it’s crushing… if it’s exhausting…
maybe it’s not Jesus placing the burden.

Just rambling.

I turned my running lights on in the truck—they were so bright I covered them with my hand until I got out. As I stood there, the word of the Lord spoke to me:

“Just because you hid the light does not change the fact that the light is still there.”

As believers, Jesus is always with us. We are not immune to the evils of this world. Let’s be real—life hurts sometimes. There are moments when you feel wounded, unsure if there’s any light left, when darkness feels like it has taken over.

But hear this today: Jesus is with you.
Just because the world has pushed you into darkness does not mean the light has gone out. Jesus is the Light. Call on Him in your troubled times. His promise to be with us still holds true today.

Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
—John 1:3–5

No matter how dark it feels, the light is still there.

01/08/2026

Hey gap church, we’re gonna keep it real for a minute.

I was out riding with Mike Jay, heading down the service road of I35, when a crotch-rocket motorcycle flew past us—reckless, fast, no regard for anyone else. In that moment, I let my flesh take over. I said things I can’t post here. I flipped him off. I was angry. And even worse, I caught myself thinking, “If he wrecks, that’s on him. He got what he deserved.”
And then the Lord checked my heart.
He said, “What if you got what you deserved?”

That stopped me cold.

Because if I got what I deserved… I wouldn’t be standing here forgiven. I wouldn’t have hope. I wouldn’t have grace. I’d be lost. There is no way I can save myself, y’all. The only reason I’m redeemed, the only reason I’m free, is because of the blood of Jesus Christ.

That thought broke me. My reaction wasn’t godly. My heart in that moment wasn’t right. But thank God we don’t get what we deserve, we get mercy. We get grace. We get forgiveness.

I’m not perfect. My thoughts and actions don’t always line up the way they should. But I am saved, forgiven, and covered by the blood of Jesus. And right now, I feel a blessing in my life so big I can’t even explain it yet. I don’t have all the details—but I know God is moving.

And I’m ready.

Are you? 🙏

Good Sunday morning gap church

In Acts chapter 3 there a gate called Beautiful, laid in the street,
A poor and lonely beggar, crippled in his feet.
Peter and John walked by—his need was clear,
“No silver, no gold—but healing is here.”

“In the name of Jesus—get up and rise!”
Faith met the moment before his eyes.
He stood, he walked, he leaped, he praised.
That’s what happens when you move in Jesus’ name.

And sometimes life beats us down just the same, maybe not crippled in our feet, but in our heart, in our pain.
Crippled in spirit, worn down inside.
Laid at a gate, just hoping to survive.

But hear this truth, Jesus never changed.
The word says He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Because He gave His life on the cross, you can rise.
Shake off the past, lift up your eyes.

Get up. Rise up. Start this new year clean.
A fresh slate, a new walk, step out of your history into your destiny. God has greater plans for you than you could ever imagine.
Many blessings
Mark
