It is with great sorrow that we are sharing the passing of our Jackie Huffer. Known for her quick wit and jello salads, Jack brought joy and energy when joining with our congregation members during worship, fundraisers and social gatherings. She loved to have one of our little members by her side helping her make apple dumplings.
Doris Jacquelyn Huffer, 91, of Jefferson, MD passed away on June 15, 2026 at Frederick Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born January 4, 1935 in Washington DC, she was the daughter of the late Roy W. Pryor and Inez L. Pryor of Wolfsville, MD. Jackie graduated from Middletown High School and was employed the by FBI in Washington DC, until she joined her husband in Honolulu, Hawaii where he was stationed during the Korean War.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Wayne E Huffer, married 59 years and her high school sweetheart. Jackie was also preceded in death by son, Randy Wayne Huffer, brother, Donald Pryor, sister, Barbara Shimp, sister in law Harriet Pryor, grandson, Bradley Huffer, great grandson, Logan Luaces-Huffer and brother in laws Jay Wendal Huffer and Harold Webber Jr..
She is survived by son Michael Huffer (Melissa); Grandchildren, Matt Huffer (Erin), Megan Delashmutt (Patrick), Ryan Huffer (Ana Long), Morgan Foreman (Jacob), Great Grandchildren; Grayson, Madelyn, Logan, Carter, Oaklyn, Ryder, Nora and Quinn, Brother in law; Sam Huffer, Anne Huffer, and Sheila Webber and many nieces, nephews and friends from St. Paul Luthern Church, Burkittsville Ruritan and Fenwick Island Delaware.
She loved to travel to warm places, work in the garden, read books, work on puzzles, and helping others. She was also very active with St. Paul Lutheran Church and Burkittsville Ruritan Ladies Auxiliary.
