Pastor Mark Eastway preached his sermon, "Ignoring the Obvious," from Romans 1:18-23. For thousands of years, people viewed the existence of divine or spiritual forces as an obvious fact of nature. Are people moving away from faith in God because of science, or is it pride?

Burket Bible Church Worship Service, Sunday, August 30, 2026. Pastor Mark Eastway preached from Matthew 5:3-12. In his sermon, entitled "Who are the Blessed?", he compares the spiritual teaching in Jesus' Sermon on the Mount with His Sermon on the Plain. Perhaps, left with more questions than he answered, Christians should confront the hard teachings of Jesus. We continue to miss members of our praise team: Gary Kuhn, who is undergoing rehabilitation after heart surgery; Marla, our pianist; and his wife and caregiver. Ron and Donna are attending a baptism. We miss you all.

Yay! We have a video from Sunday's service. This service is dated August 23, 2026. Pastor Mark Eastway preached from Galatians 1:11-17. His title was "The Unlikely Evangelist." The Apostle Paul went from a persecutor of Christians to one of the great evangelists. He was not taught by man, but received divine revelation from Jesus Christ. And he wrote thirteen of the twenty-seven books of the New Testament.

Howard Kretsch and I made excellent progress on the youth center this afternoon. Together, we installed three of the four TVs. The fourth TV had to be sent back. When I tested it, the screen was cracked. I noticed the bottom of the box was detached from the rest of the box. I suspect that when the delivery man, or someone else, went to pick it up, it must have slid down and hit the floor. Its replacement will arrive later this week. In this photo, Howard is installing the wiring for the sound system. He had as much "fun" running the wires above the drop ceiling as I did last week running the wires for the surveillance cameras. Another photo shows the LED lighting along the ceiling. We'll install the LED colored floodlights next week.

Sorry folks, our Sunday, July 26 worship service video has no sound. The connection to the audio mixer was either disconnected or turned off. We expect to fix the glitch and be back up next Sunday.
