Dear Benefactor:
I hope to find you all well with this note. As you know, the Archbishop Hovnan Derderian Scholarship Fund (“the Fund”) is established on the conviction that each and every Armenian student is entitled to an Armenian education within an Armenian School. The Fund is dedicated to helping Armenian students in financial need who are intent on continuing their studies in an Armenian school, through a scholarship and financial assistance program. For the past 9 years, we have kept our mission alive and have assisted hundreds of students become and remain scholars in our recipient Armenian schools.
But now, the Fund needs you! Your gift toward an Armenian Education is never lost. The timeless value of an education remains the cornerstone of our mission. It is very important for the Fund that not one child is left behind and deprived of an education due to an unmet financial need. We need your contribution and support! We need you to be the ONE who ensures that our children receive the education, leadership training, and development to succeed and at the same time make an impact in our community.
We want you to know that since the beginning of the pandemic in March of 2020, although we have not engaged in fundraising, we have been able to keep dozens of students whose families were impacted by Covid-19, in school. To date, since our inception in 2013, we have distributed nearly $400,000.00 to our recipient institutions and have established nearly $200,000.00 in endowments. All of this was because of each one of you who are dedicated believers in our mission and benefactors who have always been there to contribute to the Fund so that we can carry out our mission – a mission that you and I believe in profoundly.
This year, we NEED YOU so that we can continue to make certain that in this present climate and very different world we are living in, our children are not left behind. And we can ensure that only if you help us with your contribution and support.
On behalf of the Fund, I invite to become and remain a benefactor and make a difference in the life of at least one child if not more. I look forward to welcoming you to our donors’ dinner on October 16th, 2022. I promise to keep it casual and simple, but I ask that you support us, the newly elected Board of the Fund so that we can continue to support our scholars and preserve their Armenian identity.
