Wanted to share this CBS interview talking about her new memoir Heart of a Stranger by Rabbi Angela Buchdahl’s whose prayers and song at Central Synagogue are enjoyed by so many of us online. She talks about building and claiming her identity as a Korean Jew. And notes that when you feel like an outsider personally, that is a valuable entrée to understanding the Jewish experience over centuries. And this shapes her leadership style to actively welcome all those who show up in her sanctuary. We are individuals when it comes to our relationship with and experience of Jewish identity, and together we can still be one community.
