Hello brothers and sisters. Thank you for your prayers as I a continue to recover from my illness. Because of this, I have not prepared a Friday Finbar Update video for you this Friday. I did, however, want to send this message as we BEGIN a new liturgical year this weekend celebrating the first Sunday of Advent.

Advent is a time of patience, hope, and the possibility of New Beginnings. In a world of darkness, we await for the new dawn of light to be born anew in every heart calling us to make room for the Son of God.

Our theme for Advent this year is: “Let there be peace on earth, and let it BEGIN with me.” This phrase captures the desire of every human heart for peace. But it also recognizes that the gift of peace BEGINS with each one of us. As we BEGIN a new liturgical year, may we take responsibility for our growth and conversion that allows the grace of Jesus to take root into our hearts bringing about true peace that the world needs.

Attached is the Advent and Christmas schedule for this year. May we take this time of preparation to strive to be true peacemakers in our world. God bless you all as we BEGIN our Advent journey.

A Message From Father Francis:

Today we celebrate the Feast of Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus. They were the siblings who lived in Bethany and often welcomed Jesus in their home in FELLOWSHIP and hospitality. They were great friends with Jesus who built a beautiful closeness with the Lord.

We too are called to build communities of FELLOWSHIP. By walking with one another in faith, we are able to support one another in the most difficult moments of our lives. May we continue to build our FELLOWSHIP with one another in community and truly be brothers and sisters in Christ for one another.

We are currently looking for new catechists to help with our Faith Formation/Religious Education with the children and Confirmation program with the teens. Also we are looking to restart our Altar Server Ministry for children and teens. If you are interested, please call the Parish office to sign up. You must be at least an incoming 4th grader having had your first communion. Altar Server training is scheduled for Saturday August 13, 2022 at 11

A Message From Father Francis:

“The GLORY of God is man fully alive.” - St. Ireneaus

As Christian disciples, we are meant to live in God’s GLORY. Last weekend’s events of Fr. Cesar being ordained, the celebration of his first Mass, and the celebration of Confirmations with Bishop Alex were truly filled with God’s GLORY. I am grateful for all of your prayers for Fr. Cesar, our Confirmation Candidates, and our whole parish. May we continue to say YES to God’s plan allowing us to be truly alive in Christ and live in the GLORY of God!

A Message From Father Francis:
KINSHIP speaks of our connection and relationship with one another as beloved children of God. We are called to cultivate this KINSHIP with everyone we meet. It is through this KINSHIP that we are able to share the love of Christ. When we lose our KINSHIP with God, and others, we are capable of doing great things that bring harm to others and ourselves. Let us continue to connect in Christ to bring peace and healing to our very broken world as well as support one another in our journey of faith.
