🌪️⛪🙏Thank you for your concern and prayers on behalf of Genesis Baptist Church in this time of need
and urgency that we’re facing. Most of you have seen the videos of our roof being torn off by
some type of twister or tornado.Thanks to our members and many other volunteers who helped get a temporary patch on the roof before Sunday. Our immediate need is to protect our building; thus, we are placing the need for new roofing as our first priority. However, we know that we lost a great deal of insulation in our attic, gutters and
downspouts will have to be replaced, our pump house/out building will have to be replaced, and
possible other damage that we have yet to discover. Many have expressed a desire to make donations to help cover the cost of these repairs. We have already received a donation of 1,600 linear feet of 2x4 lathing, and we know that the initial cost of the rest of the roofing material and installation will be in the neighborhood of $16,000, and this does not cover all the additional expenses that we will incur. Genesis Baptist Church would appreciate your continued prayers and any donations the Lord leads you to contribute to help meet this need.

🌪️🙌 We would like to thank everybody for letting us know what happened. We also want to thank everybody for all their hard work, sweat, tarp and lumber donation, and water for the task in the heat this evening. We are definitely proud of our community here in Buna! No one was in the building when the weather event occurred. Everyone is safe and there's been no damage to the sanctuary. We will still be meeting tomorrow with joy at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary and Sunday school at 9:00 a.m.! Thank you so much for the concerns and the prayers!
