Now, Community Lutheran Church (CLC) is among those closing until further notice.
Yes...we live in a time of COVID-19
Daily, sometimes, hourly, we hear of more cases of the virus, more cancellations of events, more closings.
This is a disruption...but also a time to live and act as faithful people of God.
This pandemic and the need for "social distancing," come during Lent. For the church, Lent is a time for intentional practices of prayer, reflection, silence and, scripture study.
We can still do all those things! We will be practicing "physical distancing" but not "social distancing" or disconnectedness.
• On Thursdays at 2 PM will be a time for scripture study and prayer. (Emails will be sent out on Thursday mornings with a selected Bible reading and prayer. Then at 2 pm...together, we will read, study, reflect and pray. If you have questions or comments about the day's reading, you may reply to the email, comment on Facebook, or send them by email to the church at:: [email protected]
• Pastor Tim will also be recording Sunday sermons so we'll still get to see and hear him each week. (More info on that later this week.)
• Watch for more information about additional offerings during Holy Week.
Circumstances are forcing us to change our behavior, but let's look at this as an opportunity for us to pause and reflect...breathe...and think about what it means to be the body of Christ.
Christ is in us and with us...we are all members, one of another, in Christ...we are the body of Christ together when we cannot gather in person.
Who knows...we might even find that absence makes the presence of God more profound.
We are not alone Jesus said:; "Remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Blessings to you all!
Please stay safe and well!
