WORD for your Monday.
Revelation 3:20. NIV
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in…”

Jesus is inviting you to enter into a relationship with Him.

Most everyone remembers a guy named Zig Ziglar. If you don’t, he was a motivational speaker. His speciality was personal development, positive attitude & Christian ethics.

Every opening at his seminars, Zig opened with 2 great questions.
First:
“Is there one decision you could make today that would make tomorrow worse?”

Then, he would ask:
“Is there one decision or change you could make today that will make tomorrow better?”

No doubt, all of us could make better decisions. What made his crowds squirm was the idea if “change.” No one likes that word, but change is what most of us need. Change is good for all of us. The problem is—unexpected change is mostly unwanted. The answer to change is in this verse. Jesus is waiting on you to decide to change. He is waiting on you to choose to change. He is waiting on you to recognize that YOU are the problem. YOU & your stinking pride are the reason your life is the pits. AND, it has overwhelmed you. LISTEN: God is not overwhelmed. Even in your worst moment, God still has your back. He is waiting on YOU to open the door of your heart.

Ask yourself:
Does God know your situation?
Is it too hard for Him to handle?
Does He have a good plan for you?
Yes, No, Yes are the answers.

So, do you keep on running?
Your choice. Change or keep living in your prideful, pitiful life. Keep abusing your wife & your kids by your poor choices & your selfish attitude.

Jesus is calling YOU!
Open the door of your heart.

Be blessed & have a grace filled day. Pastor Mike

WORD for your Sunday.
Colossians 3:23-24. NKJV
“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive an inheritance; for you serve the Lord.”

RESPONSIBILITY.
Proverbs 24:12:
“Don’t try to avoid responsibility by saying you didn’t know about it.”

Joseph was a slave in Potiphar’s house AND even as a slave, he was placed in charge of the entire household. AND, when he was thrown into prison—the prison warden placed him in charge of all prisoners.

Potiphar & that prison warden both recognized that Joseph was a responsible person.

To be a responsible person—God gives us the ability to see what needs to be done & then see to it that it is done. Not only is that being responsible—it is being dependable.

As Christians, we should be more responsible than others. We need to be consistent in our words, our deeds & our attitude. We have a higher calling & must be responsible to show the world the godly character the Lord had developed in us through our relationship with Him.

Do people see you as being a responsible person? Are you serving “heartily”?

Matthew 25:29
“To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who are unfaithful, even what little they have will be taken away.”

Read verse 30. Yikes!
Be blessed & have a grace filled day.

Go to church & be filled!

WORD for your Saturday.
FOOTSTEPS.
1 Peter 2:21. CSB
“For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in His steps.”

YOU!!!
Who are you following???

That leads me to Matthew 16:13.
Jesus asks His disciples a question & the same question is asked of us:
“Who do people (you) say that I am?”

AND the even more important question—at least in my humble opinion, is in verse 15:
Jesus asks: “Who do YOU (my emphasis) say that I am?”

We cannot follow in His steps IF we do not know Him personally. I am not talking about knowing Him historically—because that is how I knew of Him my entire life! THAT is NOT personal relationship!

It is very simple—the gospel.
The gospel is very simple. Too many have made it way more difficult to understand. That is how I saw it. But, it is simple.

LISTEN: In verse 16, Peter answers the question asked by Jesus & it is in this verse we hear Peter’s answer.
He said: “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God!”

That is it! Period! Jesus Christ is who He says He is & He is the One & Only One you & I should be following. His steps should be our steps & they cannot be your steps IF you have never called on Him & begun to follow Him.

Following Jesus is the only way we can understand & respond to suffering is by knowing & understanding how He suffered for us. That is following in His steps.

Who do you say He is?
Be blessed & have a grace filled day.
