Since 2013, our first mission trip to El Salvador, we have built 3 pastoral homes and 1 church from the ground up, renovated 2 pastoral homes and 2 churches, expanded a church, installed a fence around a church property, helped with many repairs of homes and churches, and helped Salvadoran families in many ways from purchasing food to helping to pay for children to go to school.

This year we will build our 4th pastoral home for Pastor Oscar Melendez and his family. We will be leaving in early July for this trip with our family and mission team. We have not met our financial goal yet and covet your help with this. If you feel led to help, please send us a message. We also ask for your prayers over this trip and all of the hands that will be involved in this project. ¡Dios le bendiga!

In April 2014, we returned to El Salvador for our second mission trip. This time we planned to renovate a church and the home for the pastor of the church. The house had no electricity and a partial roof. It was mostly just walls with openings for windows and doors. Pastor Rafael and his family should have been able to live in the home but it, clearly, was uninhabitable.

By the time we were finished the house was an actual home with electricity, a roof, doors and windows. A new bathroom was also dug out and made. The church had a fresh coat of paint inside and out and a sidewalk along the outside. We were only able to provide this family with a home because of donations from compassionate people like you. El Salvador remains a very poor country with the average salary around $390 a month. As hard as you see people working, it just isn’t possible to build a home and provide for your family on wages like that. This is where we need your help.

Our next mission is to build a home for Pastor Oscar, his wife and toddler age daughter. You can read more about them by following the GoFundMe link. If you can make any financial contribution it would go a long way in providing this young family with a home. If you cannot afford to help financially, please be in prayer over this project and share this post.

In July 2013, as newlyweds, we went on our first mission trip to El Salvador with a group of people from First Baptist Buford and Pastor Rolando Aparicio, the pastor of Arca de Jehova church in Flowery Branch. Our project was to build a home for Pastor Manuel and his family. Their current home was made of tin pieces with dirt floors along the back of their church.

This trip cemented our love for the people of El Salvador and gave us lifelong friends in Pastor Manuel and his family. Every year we visit this site and the family. We sit and talk and catch up. It has become so much more than building a house and then moving on and we have seen that in every project. A piece of our hearts stays in El Salvador.

This year we will be building a home for Pastor Oscar and his family. Pastor Oscar has volunteered to help at our other projects and now we would like to give him his own home. We are asking for your help because, with the cost of everything going up, the amount needed to build this home is much higher than anything we have done before. I can’t tell you how much the family would appreciate this blessing.

If you can donate or would like to know more, please follow the link below. You can also send a check to PO Box 702, Buford, GA 30515. Also please pray for this trip and reach out to us if you have questions or would like to go on a trip with us.

In 2013, my husband and I went on our first mission trip to El Salvador. In 2015, we started our own ministry (The Harvest Ministries) so we could continue to help people in the rural area of Usulutan. In our time there we have built 3 homes, a church, and made renovations to several homes and churches. We also raised money after Hurricane Maria, then traveled to Puerto Rico with a small group of people to help distribute funds for renovations to homes and churches that had been destroyed. The pandemic kept us from traveling for a couple of years but we were still able to raise and send money to families in El Salvador that had immediate needs.

This year will be our first trip back to actually build. This pastor and his family have been waiting for a home and currently live in some back rooms of his church. Like most pastors we have helped, he puts his time and money into making the church beautiful and helping his congregation over his own needs. We ask that you consider making any donation, big or small, to help us with this build and also praying for this trip. Due to inflation, this project is quite a bit more expensive than other builds and that makes us feel anxious but we believe that God will provide as He always has. If you can help, through prayer or a financial contribution, it would be a blessing to us and this family. We are also a 501(c)(3) so any donation can be a tax write-off.

We are gearing up for our first build since COVID hit! This year we will be building a home for Pastor Oscar Melendez, his wife, and baby girl. This was a home we had planned to have already completed but had to postpone due to the pandemic. Like everything else, the cost for building has risen dramatically in the last year and we are looking at spending more than double what we usually do. We are asking for your help to make this dream of being a homeowner a reality for this family. Please consider helping us through a financial contribution and also be in prayer over our mission this year. We know God will do great things!
