The God of the Impossible.
In life, there are always things that we need to have and do that are impossible for us alone to apprehend. But that does not mean we cannot attain those things and have all our needs met. God made us with the desire to surmount the mountains of life by looking to Him. Even the unbeliever looks to some idea or god to help with those impossible dreams.
Why do we not ask God? Well, pride and personal ambition sometimes get in our way. I can say that my own personal limitations and failures are due to that simple fact. And as I look back on life, my successes are all tied to God’s will and to His power at work in me and in others. Praise be to God.
We know there are certain things we cannot overcome, like the fact that we will sometimes fail. But sometimes failures lead to greater successes. We know that there are things God did not make us to do, but that others who help us did. We know that sickness and death are facts of life brought by the old curse of sin upon this world. We know that the best of saints will have to face death. But that great impossibility, Jesus Christ made possible by giving his life for our sins, and by His own blood, has conquered death and the grave. By His Resurrection, we have been given a new life and the power of His resurrection. When our time comes to die, that new life will go on in heaven in a glorious life. So we do not approach life by focusing on dying. We focus on living. We visit our medical help for our physical condition and find help. We focus our lives on God’s Will and serve Him faithfully. The cause God gives us, we long for and take joy in pursuing with an eternal mindset. And through that, God works mightily,
We can set and look at life and say, “ I cannot accomplish what I heed ot do”, or we can say, The Lord willing, I want that mountain, like Caleb of old. The latter is my choice, what about you? Trust in Christ today for eternal salvation. Read Romans 9-13 and do what God says to obtain eternal life. Then read Romans 12: 1-4 and begin to live a new, transformed life in Christ.

Today, we remember the sacrifice of over 1 million American soldiers over our 250-year history as a nation. No matter where they died, we must remember that they did in the service of our country. And as Hebrews 11:38 says, “Of whom the world was not worthy” fits their sacrifice. I believe that we should not let them die in vain. We need to live worthy in American freedom and keep on fighting against all enemies of Liberty that threaten our country.
My perspective is that these valiant men and women in combat uniforms, who gave their lives for our Liberty, did not fall; they stood. Yes, I know that we honorably remember that they died, by saying that they are fallen heroes. And I honor them today. But in their sacrifice, they stood bravely and couragiously for every person, every family, every community, every city, every county, every state, and for our country! And today we remember them and give thanks to God.
Our Nation continues to stand strong because there are Men and Women all over the world who have taken a stand in the Gap for us to live in our sacred God-given Liberty.
Let's all remember today and teach our children what this day means. Let’s thank those who have served and are serving, and live worthy of those who gave the fullest measure of their devotion to America!
If you are a family mourn today because one of your own died in our nation's service, we mourn for you and weep with you. May God help you today as you bear the continuing price of America’s Liberty, and may we live worthy each day of that Sacrifice.

The foundation of our civil republican form of government was the Mayflower Compact. It was agreed and signed by all members before they ever left the ship. In the Rotunda of the United States Capitol, there hangs a painting of the deck of the ship called the Embarkation of the Pilgrims of Delft Haven, Holland, July 22, 1620. When I took school groups to Washington, D.C., we always took the tour, and I pointed out to the students the most important prayer meeting ever made for America. These pilgrims were leaving the port, and their Pastor, John Robinson, was praying with them. He had preached messages from God’s Word to instruct them in forming their new government principles based upon the Word of God. He actually taught them to elect officials from among themselves and to choose wisely based on their character, ability, and, most of all, their respect for God and the Bible.
Before they ever left the ship, they formed and signed the Mayflower Compact, the forerunner of our American Constitution. They agreed from the start on their republican form of Government to secure their liberty and their unity. That served them well, for they endured great hardships that would cause others to fail.

Pastor Robinson Preached: “Lastly, whereas you are become a body politic, using amongst yourselves civil government, and are not furnished with any persons of special eminency above the rest, to be chosen by you into office of government; let your wisdom and godliness appear, not only in choosing such persons as do entirely love and will promote the common good, but also in yielding unto them all due honor and obedience in their lawful administrations…”
(Robinson, John. Robert Ashton, ed., The Works of John Robinson, Pastor of the Pilgrim Fathers (London: John Snow, 1851), Vol. 2, pp. 140-141.)
As we go to the Polls to vote today and for every election this year, we must all do several things. First, do what the Pilgrims did and pray. Seek God’s wisdom from His Word about your choices. Second, get informed. Never just take the word of media outlets or even other people without doing personal research, especially about the candidates. Take a sample ballot and mark your choices. The most important step is to get IN your car, head ot the polls, and Vote! The greatest voice you have in our great land to protect your liberties is to cast that ballot.
When Good Americans go to the Polls and actually cast a Ballot with their choice, they are more powerful than all the politicians put together. Don’t be one of the 70% of Americans who do not care because they do not vote! Let’s break that midterm defeatist view and turn out the Powerful Voice of Americans. Go Vote!

We are celebrating 250 Years of Liberty in America, and that was not by accident. Our forefathers certainly worked hard and paid the price so that we could have an enduring Liberty ordained, given, and supported by God Almighty. Daniel
Dreisbach wrote a book entitled The Bible and the American Founders. (This material is taken from the C.S. Jewish Institute. August 1, 2018.) He related that the Bible was referenced more than any other by our founding fathers when establishing our nation, even more the army contemporary books including John Locke or William Blackstone, was the Bible.
The Founding Fathers studied and referenced the book of Deuteronomy in Establishing Laws and Government as well as the book of Romans.
They believed Truth is the foundation of Liberty! Jesus said this: John 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Listen to His summation which is very convicting to us all: . “I think this is why it matters. This danger alone—that in our biblical illiteracy we’ll lose sense of who we are, where we’ve come from—this danger alone should inspire us to study the Bible in its role in the life of our nation.
From the Puritan fathers, Americans looked to the Bible for guiding principles on political order, civil authority, civic virtue, responsible citizenship, and other features that are a part of a
well-ordered political society. The framers drew on diverse political and legal traditions in crafting a constitutional republic.
One of the most important but least studied sources of influence on our political culture and our constitutional tradition is the Bible. The Constitution contains many features in both content and design familiar to Bible-reading people, and we cannot understand adequately our constitutional tradition or the historic events that produced our great political experiment in republican self-government and liberty under law without studying, without referencing, the Bible.
So let me urge you to read and study the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Read and study other expressions of our founding principles. And to better understand the Constitution, read your Bible.

On the Lord’s day this week, we began the celebration of our nation’s 250th birthday. It was a day dedicated to the revival of America’s founding principles. Many citizens do not know the good and Godly heritage of our nation’s founding. But it is hard to miss the Biblical foundation that influenced the framers of the greatest nation on earth. It is impossible to miss the same truths in the writings of our founding fathers and mothers! We have to say we have a good, Godly Heritage. Were they all perfect? Well, we are not perfect either, and our society has more sinful problems than theirs did. But the principles they laid down still work in our own problems today. But take the focus home. As the homes are in the nation, so goes the nation. I believe that a Godly heritage begins in the Individual’s heart and life. David had a personal commitment to carry on his Godly heritage by maintaining a personal walk with God. He then led his family to do the same. It is important to note in David’s family that some of his sons left the faith, but it was not due to a lack of faith in their father. And it is also important to note that the move was their downfall. That same principle works today. A Godly commitment in a husband and wife impacts their children and family, and that heritage impacts their posterity.
Today, we enjoy a Godly heritage in our nation that is still very much alive. That is because our founding fathers’ commitment was to follow the Word of God.
Today, right now, you can commit your heart to Christ and leave a great and Godly heritage of faith to your family and friends that can influence generations to come!
