Weekend Wrap Up: Friday evening, we hosted a collaborative concert with Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in our beautiful sanctuary. It was a powerful and moving evening of music with a focus on peace and unity. The 140+ choir filled the space in a way that somehow felt both grounding and transcendent.

Sunday morning, our Sunday School students celebrated the first of two Mr. Rogers Sundays by making neighborhood gratitude bags to thank the people in our life for making every day a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

After church, our youth and their coordinators met up with Deerhurst Presbyterian Church and Lockport First Presbyterian Church youth groups for some fun: ping pong, pizza, and bowling! They are already counting down the days until they get to go to Massanetta Springs Camp and Conference Center and Montreat together this summer!

Tomorrow is our collaborative concert with the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus! This important piece is titled: The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace. The Mass was composed in 1999 by Karl Jenkins as he reflected on ‘the most war-torn and destructive century in human history.’ It offers a message of hope that our future will have more peace and fewer wars.

Weekend Wrap Up: We had a great weekend of community and growth! On Friday evening, we broke fast with our Muslim friends from Buffalo United for Peace, Inc., listening to multiple speakers discuss Ramadan and celebrating that our holy seasons perfectly aligned this year!

Sunday morning in Worship, we welcomed 5 new members into our church family. We can't wait to get to know them more and see what gifts they bring to our church as we grow together.

WEEKEND WRAP UP: This weekend was full-even if our camera rolls don't show it!

Friday night, our members showed the importance of showing up for one another-by showing up to support fellow Westminsterite Robert Creighton at the Irish Classical Theatre here in Buffalo.

We were so lucky to be able to host a Wajahat Ali, a noted columnist, commentator, author and playwright, to speak in weekly Case Library Sunday School and then again in worship. He was the perfect blend of insights into the rise of Christian Nationalism and the humor of acing Catholic Biblical Studies classes as a Muslim. If you haven't watched this Sunday's service, see comments below for link that will begin right at his talk. He also spoke at the Muslim Public Affairs Council's annual Tent of Abraham event on Saturday night, an annual event for peace and unity that our church looks forward to every year!

On Sunday afternoon, our choir gathered over at Clarence Presbyterian Church to lead a collaborative choral evensong with the good folks of Clarence. We are so grateful to be able to celebrate all that we share together.

Altogether, it was a weekend rooted in the importance of showing up for one another, listening across differences, and celebrating the shared life of our wider community. Want to know more about our community? Join our weekly enewsletter in the comments below!

A note from Eli Campbell, our chair for Generosity 2026:

"Thank you for pledging to sustain this wonderful church in 2026. We pledge to set a realistic expectation for what our church’s resources will be in the coming year. Almost 200 of our 356 households have shared how much they will give, but we haven’t yet made it to our goal. If we want to get there, we need 100% participation. If you haven’t pledged, I remind you to do so. Everything we give will help to serve God through this wonderful community as we bring our hearts and hands together, to our community and to our God."

This weekend's wrap up is all things superbowl (maybe next year for our Bills)! Our youth collected non-perishable items and over $150 for with the ! We had the perfect weekend to warm up around a bowl of chili with cornbread, salads, and desserts. We had over 60 folks join us for our first (annual?) chilifest and are already looking forward to the next one!

Thanks to all of our chili chefs and the many folks that make events like this one so special.

At Westminster, our music echoes through generations. Enjoy this clip of Charles Wood’s ‘Expectans Expectavi’ from a recent Sunday. Accompanying it is a cherished score from Hans Vigeland’s first Sunday in 1949, used across decades until his retirement in 1975. The past and present sing together in every note!
