The statue of Our Lady of Miracles, carved for and venerated for almost a century by the Mussomelese community of Garfield, New Jersey at the former Our Lady of Sorrows Church, was masterfully restored over the last year by Stacey Udave of Swiatek Studios, located in Clarence.

Swiatek Studios also expertly re-created the custom Mussomelese shield that had been missing from the set for many years.

Displayed and blessed at our Buffalo feast on Saturday, September 13th, the Madonna is now in her new home at Sacred Heart Church in Clifton, New Jersey.

La statua della Madonna dei Miracoli, scolpita e venerata dalla comunità mussomelese di Garfield, New Jersey, per quasi un secolo presso l'ex Chiesa della Madonna Addolorata, è stata restaurata negli ultimi mesi da Stacey Udave dello Studio “Swiatek” vicino a Buffalo.

Gli artisti dello Studio hanno anche ricreato con maestria lo stemma mussomelese, che mancava dal gruppo statuario da molti anni.

Esposta e benedetta durante la nostra festa di Buffalo lo scorso 13 settembre, la Madonna si trova ora nella sua nuova casa presso la Chiesa del Sacro Cuore a Clifton, nel New Jersey.

Yesterday, the Mussomelese Society of WNY (our Buffalo community joined by other Mussomelesi from Rochester, New Jersey and Canada) celebrated the 95th annual feast of Our Lady of Miracles. It was truly a very moving Mass, and evening.

At the beginning of the program, we read a special message written to the Mussomelesi in America by the Mayor, Giuseppe Catania.

We also watched a video on The Good Kitchen founded by Danny McCubbin, to which we made this year’s charitable contribution, delivered yesterday by a committee member visiting Mussomeli.

Last but not least, the statue of Our Lady of Miracles from Garfield, New Jersey, expertly restored during the last several months by Swiatek Studios of Clarence, was blessed.

Viva la Madonna dei Miracoli!
