Our friend from St. Matthew’s, Deacon Alice Turner passed away Thursday, April 27th. She was truly a wonderful Christian servant within our parish for many years. Deacon Alice was ordained 6-11-83, serving faithfully as a mentor, Deacon, and spiritual advisor in our diocese. She served many years at St. David's West Seneca where she is honored as Deacon Emeritus.

The family will receive visitors at:
Lombardo Funeral Home on Abbott Rd. Orchard Park, Wednesday, May 3rd, from 4-8pm. Alice's Celebration of Life will be held at a later date which is yet to be determined.

Please keep all the Turner family in your prayers.

"May her rest be this day in peace, and her dwelling place in the Paradise of God. May God welcome Alice into that place that has been prepared for her, into the loving arms of Christ's embrace, and into the presence of the Holy Spirit so she may realize the joy and wonder intended for her heavenly rest; we ask this in Jesus' name.” AMEN

Scripture teaches that when one part of the Body of Christ is injured, we all hurt. So our hearts are with the people of Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church in Alabama, where two people were killed at the hands of a gunman.

We invite you to join us in prayer:

God of mercy and love, we pray for the people of Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church, for the shooting victims, their families, friends and the entire community of Vestavia Hills, Ala. As we once again face the tragedy and loss of life due to gun violence, we pray to you for comfort and peace. Receive those who lost their lives into the arms of your mercy. Grant to those who grieve and all impacted by the shock of this trauma the balm of your presence.

Turn our pain into action, our sorrow into a call for change in our nation so that all of your people may be safe and live without fear. Surround us with your healing Spirit and renew our sense of hope that we may be united in bonds of love as one human family. All this we ask in the name of your Son our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
