“But appoint the Levites over the tabernacle (sanctuary) of the Testimony, and over all its furnishings and all things that belong to it. They shall carry the tabernacle [when traveling] and all its furnishings, and they shall take care of it and camp around it.”
Numbers 1:50 AMP
During my devotional time yesterday, I delved into Numbers 1, where I learned that God instructed Israel to carry the Tabernacle with them wherever they went. This meant that they carried God with them at all times. However, they were also instructed to handle this responsibility with great care and caution. God wanted to ensure that they did not become so accustomed to His presence that they would become careless.
When we become overly familiar with God, it's easy to lose our sense of reverence and awe, thus altering the dynamics of our relationship with Him. It's important not to be careless with what we carry!
