We are so excited to invite you all to our VBS Sunday service and cookout. Service starts at 11 AM with the cookout immediately following.

We will have a waterslide set up and so come prepared to get wet.

We are also having an offering competition between boys and girls where all the funds raised will go towards building churches and homes for missionaries across the world.  If the girls win, Pastor Eli will have a bucket of “ocean water” dumped on his head,  but if the boys win, Mrs. Mariah  will have the bucket of “ocean water” dumped on her head .

We are excited to see you all there!

Here is our passage this week:
2 John and 3 John

As you read and reflect, ask yourself, what example or testimony do people encounter when they encounter me? When people look at me, do they see the love and goodness of God or do they see something else?

Prayer prompts:

2 John 1:5 - " And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another."
Pray that God reveals and opens doors for you to love your neighbor well.

3 John 1:2 - "Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well."
Who is God calling you to pray for? Pray for their physical health, their mental health, their spiritual health, and anything else you fell led to pray for.

3 John 1:4 - "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth."
Take time to rejoice and thank God for how He is already on the move.

I (Pastor Eli) have been reminded of the importance of constantly reading scripture and praying together as the body of Christ. We do not always have the ability to do that together in person so I am going to begin posting some passages of scripture to read together and prayer prompts for guided prayer this week. This will hopefully serve as a guide for your personal times of devotion and as a form of accountability for those who need simple reminders to read our Bibles and a guide of direction for how to pray and may not be able to be together with us for our midweek meetings.

Here is our passage of the week:
1 John 1-5

Prayer:
1. Invite Christ to shine His light into darkness. It is important for us to be able to acknowledge the areas of our lives where darkness and sin are in control. Once we are able to recognize these spaces of darkness, then we are able to truly invite Christ to shine His light into the spaces ruled by darkness and sin.
2. Ask yourself and God if your actions truly reflect the person of Christ. Pray for guidance as we attempt to live a life that truly reflects the person of Jesus Christ.
3. “We love because He first loved us.” - 1 John 4:19 Take a moment to thank God for His unfailing love. Lord, teach us to love how you love.

We will be having a meeting this Sunday right after church for just a few minutes for anyone who wants to help with VBS. We are so very excited!

We are so excited for VBS!
