"Who Knows?"
Esther 4:10-17
Hebrews 4:14-16
We hear "for such a time as this" and make it sound so certain. But Esther wasn't certain at all. She was afraid. She didn't know how this was going to turn out. And maybe that's closer to real faith than we like to admit. Sometimes I don't know what God is doing. I don't know why I'm in this particular place or why this particular thing is sitting in front of me. But maybe I don't have to know.
Esther stopped. She fasted. She depended on God. And then, still not knowing the outcome, she walked into the room.
Maybe that's faith. Not, "I've got this." But, "God, I don't have this. But I trust You enough to take the next step."
And when we can't even do that perfectly, we have Jesus, the One who has already gone before us and opened the throne of grace.

"Give it More Gas"
Genesis 11:1-9
John 15:4-5
Genesis 11 is not really a story about how high people could build. It is a story about what happens when human ability becomes a substitute for dependence on God.
The people of Babel were gifted, organized, and creative - and afraid. They built because they wanted security, control, and a name for themselves. But their tower could not save them from what the feared most.
The good news is that God did not leave humanity climbing.
In Jesus, God came down to us.
Faith is not refusing to plan, work, or build. It is refusing to make those things our god.
Our security is not found in what we create with our own hands, but in the One whose hands hold us.

"The Drift "
Hebrews 2:1, 14-18
The writer of Hebrews urges us to pay close attention so that we do not drift away. Drifting rarely happens all at once. More often, it happens quietly-through fear, grief, resentment, distraction, or the small choices we make day after day.
The good news is that Jesus did not remain at a distance and simply call us back. He entered our humanity, experienced suffering and death, and broke the power of fear. Because He knows our weakness firsthand. He is merciful, faithful, and always ready to help those who turn to Him.
As we come to the Lord's Table, we are invited to pause and reflect. Not only to ask, "Whete have I drifted?" but also, "What has been steering my heart?" Christ meets us with grace, steadies our hearts, and calls us once again to follow Him in faith.

Lord, when the miracle doesn't come, help me trust You're still good, even when everything in me questions how this can be true.

I've prayed, believed, waited, hoped, and the answer I desperately needed hasn't arrived, and my faith feels shaken to its core.

Teach me that Your goodness isn't measured by whether You give me what I ask for but by who You are, unchanging regardless of my circumstances.

When the healing doesn't happen, the door stays closed, the breakthrough doesn't come, it's so hard to reconcile Your power with Your silence.

Help me hold onto Your character when I don't understand, to trust that good doesn't always look like what I expected or wanted.

Remind me that You're still good, still faithful, still loving through it all.

Give me faith that doesn't depend on favorable outcomes, that trusts You in the disappointment, that believes You're working even when I can't see how.

Let me rest in the truth that when the miracle doesn't come, You're still good, still present, still worthy of my trust, even through my tears and unanswered questions.

In Jesus' name,
