"By the Fire Again "

1 Peter 5:1-4
John 21:1-19

Peter had been by a fire before. And he remembered. Not just what happened, but how it felt to hear his own voice say, "I don't know him." So when he came to the shore and saw that fire, something in him knew. And Jesus was already there. They sat. They ate. Jesus did not rush him. And then He asked, "Do you love me?"
Once. Twice. Three times. By the third time, Peter stopped trying to sound strong. He simply told the truth. " Lord, you know. " And that was enough. Jesus restored him. Right there, in the very place of his failure. And then He called him forward. " Follow me. " And that is how it still happens. Jesus meets us in the place we remember and asks for the truth. He restores what is broken. And then, He leads us forward. That's Sanctification.

"He Was on the Road"
John 20:24-29
1 Peter 1:17-23
Luke 24:13-35
Last week Jesus came into the locked room and breathed peacec and the Holy Spirit on fearful disciples. This week we remember that he also came back for Thomas, not to shame him, but to meet him in mercy. Then on the road to Emmaus, Jesus walked beside two disappointed disciples who did not recognize Him at first. He listened to their sorrow, opened the Scriptures, and finally made Himself known. The good news is not that we are so good at finding Jesus. The good news is that the risen Jesus is very good at coming near to us, even when we are grieving, confused, slow to see, or living on tired hope. He still opens what is closed, stir what has gone cold, and turns people around.

Lord, help me show kindness to others today, looking for opportunities to be gentle, generous, and thoughtful in how I interact with people around me.

Kindness doesn't always come naturally, especially when I'm tired, stressed, or dealing with difficult people, and I need Your help to choose it intentionally.

Teach me that kindness is more than being nice, it's actively seeking someone's good, noticing needs and meeting them, offering grace when judgment would be easier.

Showing kindness today might mean a smile for a stranger, patience with someone who's slow, encouragement for someone who's struggling, or help for someone who's overwhelmed.

Help me slow down enough to notice opportunities for kindness instead of rushing past them, to see people not as interruptions but as divine appointments.

Remind me that Your kindness toward me is what enables me to be kind to others, that I'm simply passing on what I've received in abundance from You.

Give me eyes to see where kindness is needed, a heart willing to offer it, and hands ready to act on it throughout this day.

Let me show kindness to others today in small ways and big ways, reflecting Your heart, making someone's day lighter, proving that kindness still matters.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.

"Still Breathing, Till Christ Breathes Peace"
Romans 8:9-11
John 20:19-22

The first week after resurrection did not feel triumphant to the disciples. It felt like grief, fear, shock, and locked doors. They were still breathing, but barely. Many of us know that space. We know what it is to pray, to hope, to trust, and still face loss we never wanted. Into that room, Jesus came alive, wounded, and real. He did not shame their fear. He spoke peace. Then He breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. " The risen Christ still meets His people that way. He comes into fearful places, gives peace stronger than death, and breathes His life into weary hearts. At His table, we receive by faith, the body if Christ and the cup of His salvation. We do not leave on our own strength. We leave renewed, restored, and alive in Christ, ready to carry resurrection peace into a world that still looks alot like Rome.
