We have been having so much fun this week at VBS learning about Roman times! We have met characters in the marketplace, visited with Paul on house arrest, and visited early Christians meeting in a secret cave. The kids have time traveled during crafts and games and learned about different trades like being a scribe or a potter or learning about aqueducts and games Roman children played. The object lessons during science have been an awesome learning tool to explain and reinforce our daily themes and VBS songs are just always fun. We hope your kids have been having as much fun as our leaders this week, and we can't wait to share more with you during our program tomorrow. All are invited to Rome at the First Reformed Church. The program starts at 11:25, and you won't want to miss it!

Missions are an important part of VBS as we encourage the kids to spread God's love to others. Our missions this year are our local food bank and Operation Christmas Child. Here's a little information about our selected missions.

The North Iowa Food for Families is our local food bank. We are asking kids to bring donations for the food bank this week to VBS. All donations go to our Buffalo Center food bank to support North Iowa families. This mission directly helps our neighbors and community. So far the donation total is quite a bit lower than past years. Please consider donating tomorrow. Every little bit helps!

Operation Christmas Child is a Samaritan Purse program that sends Christmas shoe boxes to kids around the world to help spread The Gospel and share our Christian love with children in need. Our host church packs boxes for Operation Christmas Child every November, and it was decided that our offering this year will go towards the cost of building and shipping Christmas boxes. We have collected enough to send 5 boxes. Our goal is 10. Let's see if we can make our goal tomorrow! If a monetary donation is not an option please consider volunteering your time for the packing day. Please join us for the VBS program tomorrow at 11:25 am. The kids are excited to share what they have learned this week. There will be a meal to follow. See you there!

If you cannot attend the program it will be recorded for later viewing.
