Two new purses for our next shipment! These were created as part of SewPowerful's "Flaps of Love" exchange; the butterfly purse was a patchwork flap I received from a lady in Oregon and sewed into a purse. I made the striped purse, and sent a similar flap to a lady in Northern California!

This week, we are sending 23 purses to the Sew Powerful ministry in Northern California! We already have 5 more ready for the next mailing, and many kits ready to sew up!
This ministry serves young women in Zambia, who typically give up their education when they reach maturity, because they lack sanitary supplies to attend school. The ministry gives them a beautiful purse and fills it with necessities! Women in their community are trained to sew everything from school uniforms to reusable pads, and they even make soap to sell and include in the purses.
