Chris, you will be forever missed! ❤️

Christine Joy (Nickelson) Ricksecker, 64 of Bucyrus passed away on Monday December 8, 2025, at home following a longtime illness. Christine was born February 4, 1961, in Bucyrus to the late James Robert Nickelson and Rita Irene (Stover) Nickelson of Bucyrus. She was married on July 18, 1981 to Michael Ricksecker who preceded her in death on August 8, 2015. In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by nephew Bryan Nickelson and niece Ashley Leuthold Montgomery.

Christine is survived by her mother Rita, siblings James (Becky) Nickelson Jr., Mike (Betty) Nickelson, Sue Powell, and Grant (Carrie) Nickelson; special nephew that she raised Scott Wicker; as well as many additional nieces, nephews, friends, and her two favorite cats “Sweet Pea” and “Poppy”.

Christine graduated from Wynford High School in 1979 and had worked at United Church Directories and Black Hawk. She also volunteered for New Day Ministries that she was very passionate about. Christine was very creative and loved doing arts and crafts. She is remembered for her outgoing personality, contagious laugh, & a caring heart! She also was a huge fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday December 18, 2025, at 6:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Kaden Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until the time of the Service.

The family suggests memorials be in the form of contributions to New Day Ministries and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com

We are heartbroken to share that we have lost another great friend of our ministry. Chris Ricksecker has gone home, and her absence will be felt by every one of us.

Chris wasn’t just our first Food Pantry administrator — she was the heartbeat of those early days over 15 years ago. She helped build something meaningful, something lasting. And even after she stepped down from that role, she never truly stepped away. Chris continued working quietly behind the scenes, supporting, cheering, encouraging, and believing in the mission of NDM with everything in her.

Even in these last few years, as she faced difficult health battles, Chris never let that dim her passion. She still talked about the pantry. She still spread the word. She still cared. Though her body couldn’t always be here, her heart never left us.

Serving others was where Chris came alive. Loving this community was her ministry. She poured compassion into every conversation, every project, every neighbor who crossed her path. Her heart of gold made people feel seen, valued, and loved.

Chris, thank you.
For your YEARS of dedication.
For the love you carried.
For the lives you touched.
For the foundation you helped build.

Your impact is woven into the very soul of this outreach, and your memory will forever be a blessing.

You will be deeply, deeply missed. This isn’t a goodbye, just a simple “see you later” 💔
