Thank you Ann Locklin, RaeAnn McCormick,Tommy McCormick and Kathryn Shelton for coming out this past Friday to help place flags on graves and help with cleaning the Annex.

The Cemetery was pretty soggy from all the rain, but we managed to get all of the flags placed where they needed to go.

If you have a loved one buried in the cemetery who was military and you notice that they do not have a flag on their grave please let Ann know so that she can update the records.

Ann asks that flowers not be placed in the white PVC pipes by some graves sites. Those are for the flags. Thank you!!

Hope to see you all this coming weekend for our annual Memorial Day celebration, auction and pot luck!

We had a great turnout this past weekend for clean up day! About 25 people showed up to help clean the Cemetery and they were much appreciated!! The angels were out and flowers were blooming. The graves looked beautiful and vibrant with all of the colorful flowers.

After all the hard work everyone met in the Pavillion to cool off and have some lunch. We had chips and queso, taco soup, peanut butter cookies, brownies, chicken salad and more.

Thank you to everyone for your hard work and making this year's clean up a success! We hope to see you all next year.

Don't forget to come out and join us for the annual Cemetery Association Clean up day April 25th, 2026!

03/30/2026

On Saturday, April 25th from 9:00 - Noon we will have our Annual Cemetery Work Day. If it rains on April 25th we will meet the following week on Saturday, May 2nd. Please consider helping with this task.

This year we will focus on
*leveling tombstones (approximately 7)
* filling in low spots with sand.
* small amount of trimming bushes/trees
*picking up old/faded flowers, broken vases, etc on gravesites

In preparation of Friendship Memorial Day I would also like to get a jump start on cleaning the church and annex. This would include some sweeping and dusting.

Tools needed will be wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, clippers, buckets. All cleaning supplies for the church and annex cleanup will be provided.

Again, this year light snacks and water will be provided. We encourage everyone to bring your own lunch and stick around for some good fellowship.

If you have any questions please contact me through email or call/text at 254 760 2619.

Thank you for helping make Friendship Cemetery a special place.

Thanks,

Ann Locklin
President

Last year in December our little church celebrated Christmas with lighting advent candles, setting up the christmon tree and exchanging some really delicious Christmas treats!

Thank you to the Shelton family for setting up the Christmon tree as they always do and decorating the church. Dorothy always keeps the church looking nice and clean. Her and Terry always make sure the heater or fans are on and coffee is ready for service and we all appreciate it.

Reverend Prescher taught the children about the meaning of the advent candles and why we light them. She told us about how my grandmother Edith and Merle handmade every christmon decoration on our Christmon tree. She explained how they wanted each decoration on the tree to represent something and have meaning. She went over what some of the decorations symbolized. We appreciate her and look forward to having her with us another year!

Coty and Leon, Rev. Prescher, Jamie and Dorothy all brought Christmas treats for everyone. Among them were sugared pecans from Jamie, white chocolate peppermint bark from Rev. Prescher, homemade jam/jelly from Coty and Leon, sugar cookies, homemade fudge from Dorothy and Terry to name just a few. There were more treats as well, but those were my favorites ! Thank you all.
