Our KiDS had a great last weekend of the month at their Pajama party. This week we learned about Jesus telling his disciples that one day he would suffer and die but that he would rise again! Peter objected, not fully understanding Jesus' true mission: to save everyone from sin, jot just become an earthly King. Jesus reassured the disciples that His suffering was part of God's plan for redemption.

This past Sunday we learned about how Jesus knows all our fear. We heard the story about Peter walking on water and how scared he was when the wind and saves began, but Jesus rescued him!

Today we heard about a weeping woman who poured expensive oil and washed Jesus’ feet with her tears and hair. Her sins were great, but Jesus loved her anyway. Sin separates us from God. But because God loves us so much, He doesn’t want to be apart from us. Romans 5:8 says: God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Jesus knows us and loves us!

This month's biblical theme is Jesus Knows Us. Jesus knows all of those things about us and more! JESUS KNOWS US is reinforced over and over again in the Bible and this February your kids will see it in stories about the woman who anointed His feet with oil, Peter’s fear when they were walking on water together and more. We will spend time in Matthew, John, Romans and Luke and will meet Peter and a woman who humbled herself at Jesus’ feet. This past Sunday we will learned about the Sermon on the Mount, when Jesus taught His followers about the kingdom of God and walking in His ways. As part of the sermon, He assured listeners that God knows what we need and He provides. If He provides for the birds and the flowers, He will take even better care of us. Jesus taught we should not worry about things such as food and clothes but rather focus on His kingdom!

Hello CSV KiDS family. This past Sunday was the last Sunday of our Food Fight series! Our kids learned about how when Jesus was teaching in Capernaum four friends brought their paralyzed friend on a mat. They climbed the house and lowered their friend to Jesus where Jesus forgave his sins and healed him! Jesus proved that he truly is God because only God can forgive sins and miraculously heal.
The kids used teddy grahams and graham crackers to show how the friends carried their paralyzed friend on the mat and then they got to enjoy the delicious snack!

This past Sunday our kids learned about Nicodemus a Pharisee who was intrigued by Jesus' miracles. Nicodemus was puzzled because he thought good deeds were enough. Jesus explained that one needed to believe in Him for a fresh start. He shared that God offered eternal life through His Son. Nicodemus was faced with a choice. He had to decide if he believed in Jesus as the Savior. Nicodemus defended Jesus to the Pharisees and he also helped place Jesus in the tomb after He died. We don’t know what Nicodemus truly decided. Did he still think Jesus was just a great teacher or did he choose to believe Jesus is Lord and Savior? We all have to make this choice, too. Do we want to be born again so we can live with Him forever?

Come and join us for our next First Friday event focusing on Parenting! Families will enjoy a potluck style meal together from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Kids will then go to childcare (free) to enjoy some time with one another, while parents have some focused time to devote to the second lesson of the Family Life study called "No Perfect Parents." Our time together will include interactive games, a video-based lesson, and breakout discussion groups. If you missed the first session that's ok, feel free to jump in and join us!
