Father’s Goodness: God is Agape. Father’s goodness, born of His Agape, is destined do us good in the end. All His actions emanate from His compassion, mercy, faithfulness, and truthfulness. His intentions (including His judgments) are purposed to get His Family back and reconcile all creation to Himself. This is our foundation. Relational rest is built on this immovable Rock.

Eternal Father, draw near to Shreveport with comfort for those who are mourning. Mighty God, heal the wounded and traumatized. Wonderful Counselor, give governments wisdom to respond and bring some measure of justice. Prince of Peace, hasten the coming of your Kingdom, where hatreds cease, and tears are no more. Go ahead and worry if you want frustration and failure, but if you want the blessed peace and assurance of God, stop trusting in your own little self and trust in God instead. Any man who trusts in himself has grounds for worrying, but the man who trusts in the Lord has grounds for serene confidence. Our God is able, and with Him nothing is impossible. When we by faith become members of Jesus Christ, then we are made partakers of God’s unshakeable success. We know that He will lead us safely through the deep waters of trouble and affliction into the safety of His arms. In this confidence we invite you to a life free from worry, to a life in Christ, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7).
