šŸ’™ Finding Grace While Grieving: Prayers, Contemplations, and Companions on the Way

Grief can be a difficult and deeply personal journey. Beginning Tuesday, September 15 at 10:30 a.m., Parish Social Worker Kathryn West will lead a monthly virtual gathering for those experiencing loss and grief.

Together, we’ll explore the ways grief affects us—body, mind, and spirit—through prayers, readings, poetry, and conversation. We’ll also consider grief within its larger cultural context and make space for the many ways loss can shape our lives.
Sharing is welcome, but never required. Come simply to listen, reflect, and be in the company of others who understand something of the journey.

To participate or learn more, contact Kathryn West.

In this week’s Pastor’s Column, the Rev. Rachel Pedersen reflects on a simple prayer for those moments when something — whether shoes, hope, peace, or joy — seems to have gone missing. As a new school year begins, she reminds us that even when we feel lost or overwhelmed, God knows where we are and nothing is ever lost to God.

The Rev. Melanie Hardison reflects on Moses’ encounter with God at the burning bush and the holy ground moments that can transform our lives when we pause, pay attention, and turn toward God. From sacred places to ordinary moments of connection, she invites us to recognize that God is present all around us—and to have the courage to say, ā€œHere I am.ā€

šŸ¢šŸ’š What a wonderful summer of play and friendship!

Our Nurturing New Life Summer Playgroup has come to an end, and we’re so grateful for all the families who joined us along the way. We had a special guest for our final gathering: Scout the turtle, who came to visit with Liz G., our Weekday School Director!

After reading I Am Stuck by Julia Mills—a story about a turtle who is helped by a friend in a time of need—the children had the chance to pet and feed Scout and talk together about all the ways we can be a good friend. What a sweet way to wrap up our summer! 🐢

Thank you to everyone who came out to play, connect, and build community this summer. We look forward to continuing that connection this fall with our Nurturing New Life Support Group, beginning October 2.

Each week will offer time for fellowship and opportunities to hear from local experts on topics including sleep, feeding, child development, parental well-being, and navigating the early months of parenthood.

All parents are welcome! We hope you’ll join us. šŸ’›

Calling all BMPC dads!

We’re excited to launch a new ministry just for fathers with children at home: BMPC Dads’ Bible Study.

Every other Friday beginning September 11 at 6:30 a.m., we’ll gather in the Cannon Room (enter through the Radnor Street parking lot) for fellowship, conversation, and Bible study.

You don’t need to be a Biblical scholar—just someone looking for community, encouragement, and support during this busy and fulfilling chapter of life. We’ll begin by exploring the parables of Jesus and consider what they might have to say to us as fathers today.

Come start your morning with us! ā˜•ļøšŸ“–
