And yet somehow… Samson became one of the most tragic figures in the book of Judges.

How does someone ‘called by God’ end up so far from the person God called them to be?

That's the question we're going to wrestle with over the next four Sundays.

Not just ‘What happened to Samson?’
But ‘How does it happen to us?’

This Sunday, the story begins before Samson ever lifts a weapon, meets a Philistine, or becomes famous.

ONE-ON-ONE DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING STARTS TONIGHT!

We’re preparing to launch our One-on-One Discipleship ministry in 2027, and tonight we begin equipping those who want to be part of it.

Sometimes we know what we believe and what Scripture teaches—but we struggle to explain it to someone else.

This training is designed to help you:
• Share the gospel with confidence
• Answer difficult questions about faith
• Clearly explain what you believe and why
• Build intentional relationships
• Help others grow spiritually
• Learn how to make disciples who make disciples

We’ll walk through a practical DISCIPLE framework that will help you move from simply knowing your faith to confidently helping someone else grow in theirs.

📆 Meeting every two weeks
📖 8+ sessions as needed

You don't have to have all the answers. You just need a willingness to learn, grow, and help someone else follow Jesus.

Before We Meet Samson…

Over the next few weeks, we're going to dive into one of the most fascinating—and complicated—stories in the Old Testament: the story of Samson.

But before we get to Samson, it helps to understand the world he was born into.
Samson's story takes place in the book of Judges, a time when Israel repeatedly turned away from God, found themselves in trouble, cried out for help, and experienced God's deliverance—only to repeat the cycle again.

So, before we begin our new series SAMSON: A Flawed Man. A Faithful God, take a few minutes to watch this overview of the book of Judges.

Think of it as the framework for the series. It will help set the stage for Samson's story and give you a better understanding of what was happening in Israel—and why Samson's calling mattered.

He was strong. He was gifted. He was called by God. And he was deeply flawed.

You might know the story of Samson.
- The strength.
- The lion.
- The Philistines.
- Delilah.
- The temple.
But what if we've been missing the bigger story?

This fall, we're diving into SAMSON—a four-week journey through one of the most complicated stories in Scripture.

It's a story about strength and weakness, calling and compromise, failure and grace. But most of all, it's a story about a flawed man and a faithful God. Because Samson's story isn't ultimately about how strong Samson was. It's about how faithful God remained.

Come Serve With Us

Pastor Janaye will be representing Lifesource on a special Missions Teams (Work & Witness) trip to Lebanon, Tennessee, October 4–10!

Our district team will be partnering with Rest Stop Ministries, a Christ-centered residential restoration program for women who have survived human trafficking. While the residents are away on a retreat, our team will have the opportunity to serve behind the scenes—helping refresh their home through painting and other projects.
This is more than a work trip. It’s an opportunity to create a peaceful space where women are rebuilding their lives in Christ.

💰 Cost: $650
📅 October 4–10, 2026
🎨 Painting experience is helpful, but a willing heart is what matters most!
