What a beautiful Sunday at FUMC Brunswick! We're sharing a few glimpses from our early communion service in the chapel, along with the gorgeous communion table arrangement generously provided by David Lowe. David also blessed us with a few special musical pieces during the traditional service — truly a wonderful gift to worship. 🐚🏵️🌺

Celebrate Grandparents Day — September 13th! 💛

Grandparents Day is coming up on September 13th, and we want to encourage our First UMC Brunswick family to make it a "grand" one!

This year's theme is all about connection — choose just ONE of these 10 grand activities to do with a grandparent, grandfriend, grandchild, or another loved one in your life:

📖 Read a book together
🚶 Take a walk through your neighborhood or a favorite park
📸 Share family stories, memories, or look through old photo albums
🍽️ Go on a family outing — dinner, a movie, the skating rink, hiking, wherever!
👩‍🍳 Cook a favorite family recipe together
🎨 Do an arts and crafts project
☕ Have a virtual coffee or lunch date
🎲 Host a family game night, in person or online
💌 Write a letter or make a card for a grandparent, grandfriend, or older loved one — mail it or deliver it in person
🌱 Gather to honor loved ones who've passed, then plant a tree or flower seed in their memory

Need a quiet moment this week? 🕊️

Join us for Contemplative Worship, Thursday mornings at 9:30 in the chapel. It's a smaller, slower service — scripture, silence, and prayer, with room to just be still in God's presence. No pressure to sing along or say the right thing — just come as you are.

All are welcome, whether it's your first time or your fortieth.

Two Events, One Mission: A World Without Hunger 🌍

Mark your calendars, FUMC Brunswick family! We're gearing up for our annual Rise Against Hunger Food Packaging Event, and we need YOU to be part of it.

Saturday, September 20 – Spaghetti Lunch & Cake Auction
Join us for a delicious spaghetti lunch and a little friendly competition at our cake auction, with proceeds going straight toward funding meals for our Rise Against Hunger event. Come hungry, bid generously! 🍰

Saturday, October 3 – Food Packaging Day (12–4 p.m.)
This is where it all comes together. We'll kick things off with a cookout at noon, then roll up our sleeves to pack meals that will feed hungry families around the world. Since 2012, FUMC Brunswick has raised over $40,000 and packaged more than 100,000 meals through this ministry — and we're not stopping now!

Whether you're scooping rice, sealing bags, or just showing up to lend a hand, every volunteer makes a difference. Bring your family, your friends, your small group — many hands make this vision possible.
