Today is the last day of Hispanic Heritage Month, and we are so grateful to everyone who joined in celebrating with us. 🌎

Thank you to everyone who followed along this month, read our posts, and reflected with us on the faith and heritage of our Hispanic and Latin American neighbors. We loved lifting up voices like Óscar Romero’s and remembering how wide the body of Christ really is.

Hispanic Heritage Month may end today, but our commitment to honoring, learning from, and walking alongside our Hispanic and Latin American neighbors does not. Gracias a Dios, and gracias to each of you. ✝️💛

From the General Commission of Religion & Race of the United Methodist Church:
Today we honor Indigenous peoples and the rich cultures, histories, and traditions that continue to shape communities today.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a reminder to listen, learn, and recognize Indigenous voices and experiences.

We're grateful to be part of a connection that holds leaders like Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey. Her faithful service, first as president of the Council of Bishops and now at the helm of our denomination's archives and history, is part of the story we share as United Methodists. ¡Gracias a Dios!

Hispanic Heritage Month continues through October 15, so now is a good time to remember that, in 2020, our current GCAH president, Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey, became the first Hispanic woman to be president of the Council of Bishops of The United Methodist Church. She was also, at the time, the first woman of color to lead the bishops.

We are so proud to have this faithful, vibrant leader at GCAH's helm!

Calling all middle and high school students! FUMC Brunswick Youth is heading to Encounter Youth Retreat, November 20–22, right here at Epworth By The Sea!

"For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." (Ephesians 2:10)

Join students from all over South Georgia for a weekend of worship, small groups, and discovering who God created you to be. Our speaker is Albert Williams III, Wesley Foundation Director at Georgia Southern. We can't wait to hear him!

✨ Scholarships are available, so cost should never keep a student home.
🏈 Have a playoff game that weekend? Talk to us anyway, and we'll help you make it work.
🙋 We're also looking for Safe Sanctuary–certified adult chaperones!

Interested? Reach out to Pastor Alexandria by November 1 to save your spot.

Thank You for Your World Communion Sunday Gift! 🌍🍞🍷

This past Sunday we gathered at the Lord's Table with Christians all around the world, and many of you also gave generously to the World Communion Sunday offering. Thank you!

Your gifts help provide scholarships for students in the United States and around the globe who are preparing to lead in the church and in their communities. When we share the bread and cup, we're reminded that we belong to one family in Christ, and your generosity helps that family grow and flourish.

If you weren't able to give on Sunday and would still like to take part, it's not too late. You can give online here:
👉 donate.gcfa.org/wcs

Thank you for being a church that gives so that others can learn, lead, and serve. 💙
