Hope is that glowing shaft of sun breaking through the storm-darkened sky. And with just a glimmer of that glow we can take courage, find strength, and carry on with confidence.

THE LIGHT OR DARKNESS?

Today is the day that the Lord has made but man has turned into the day of wickedness in the world of darkness. As a devoted Bible believing follower of Jesus Christ I will not intentionally walk in darkness and nor will I make excuses to let the darkness creep in. To be a Christian is to believe in Jesus Christ and what He stands for. And He does not stand for the wickedness of the darkened world. Christians are children of light (1 Thessalonians 5:5) and we are all called to reflect that light unto the darkness, not play in the dark.

A Christian partaking in Halloween is like an Atheist partaking in Christmas. You cannot walk in light and darkness both at the same time and expect to see the glory of God's grace overwhelm your life. Every Christian is in control of their own blessings by the way of which they live. Every moment a Christian intentionally lives in darkness is a moment the blessings are hindered, slowed down, taken away, or denied. You are in control!!

"This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all" (1 John 1:5 NKJV).

"You are all children of the light" - (1 Thessalonians 5:5 NIV). "Walk as children of light" - (Ephesians 5:8 NKJV)

AND JESUS SAYS : "You are the light of the world...Let your light so shine" - (Matthew 5:14/16 NKJV)

NOW FAITH

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1 KJV)

Are you hungry for more blessings in your life? The scripture tells us that faith opens the door for God to move on our behalf. Faith is what pleases Him. It gives substance to the things we hope for and makes them tangible. We’ve all been given a measure of faith, but it’s up to each of us to put it into action. Notice the Scripture says, “Now faith.” It’s not “later” faith or “one day” faith. We have to have faith for today, right now, at this very moment.

Do you believe that God has blessings in store for you right now? Do you believe He wants to pour out His favor on you today? When you step out in faith and declare His Word, you open the door to His abundant favor and blessings in every area of your life!

A SIMPLE LITTLE PRAYER:
"Dear Heavenly Father God, thank You for the gift of faith. I choose to believe Your Word which is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Show me how to continue to grow in faith so I can be pleasing to You in every area of my life. Increase my faith O'Father of all earth and heaven. In Jesus’ name. Amen."

I believe God only wants the best for us and He will give us that best but He will do so only at the best time. We may think we're ready and "now" is the time but the truth is, when we think that way we are fooling no one but ourselves. Only God knows what's best for us and only He knows the best time. We only think we do.

Our job, as Christians, is to have a little faith and alot of trust in God. Be obedient to His every Word and do as He says. We may not always understand but we don't always have to. All we got to do is believe, trust, and obey. Not always easy but certainly always possible.

God wants all His believers on the mountaintop but when we get there He fully expects us to appreciate it. And the truth is, no one appreciates the mountaintop as much as those who walked through the valley to get there.

A SIMPLE BUT POWERFUL PRAYER

Dear Lord, You are the keeper of my heart and the forgiver of my soul. I praise You for sending Your Son to die for me so that I can be forgiven. Thank You that You forgive me of my wrong and remember my sins no more (Hebrews 8:12). I know that I was dead in sin, but You, O God, have made me alive in Christ and have forgiven me of everything (Colossians 2:13). I am grateful that there is no condemnation for those of us who walk with Jesus (Romans 8:2). Thank You that the law of the Spirit of life has set me free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2). I praise You as my Lord and wonderful God of forgiveness.

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10 NKJV). In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

IT'S ONLY TEMPORARY

“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all" - (2 Corinthians 4:17, NIV)

In this world, we all have troubles and trials, but scripture promises that they are only temporary. They are only "momentary." Compared with eternity, our troubles won’t last long at all! The second part of this verse tells us that when we stand strong in faith during times of adversity, we are building that faith and achieving eternal glory. When you confess your trust and reliance on God, you are passing the test!

If you are in the middle of tough times today, look to God. The Bible says that Jesus is the Author and Finisher of your faith. He is the one who writes faith on your heart and then develops it to completion on the inside of you as you yield yourself to Him. Your part is to seek Him daily. Follow His commands. Open your heart and choose to speak His Word which is alive and active. Remember, your trials are only temporary, but His eternal glory outweighs it all!

A SIMPLE LITTLE PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for working Your eternal glory in me. I cast my cares on You, knowing that my trials and troubles are temporary. Thank You for Your eternal blessing on my life today and always. In Jesus’ name. Amen."
