Today at Calvary, Pastor Ben preached a dynamic message on the power of the Holy Spirit within, drawing on Acts chapter 2. All the efforts and “religious acts” of men are ever so meaningless if not done for the glory of the Lord, and unto Him alone. The Lord knows our intentions and fills us with the strength to stand through all circumstances, to say the difficult things that are true, and to give a correct answer.
At the close of the service, four individuals made the decision to join Calvary Baptist Church. We are elated to welcome Don, Brenda, Joy, and Gracie into our congregation. It is a blessing to see how the Lord is moving in this church to bring Him glory.
Following the service we celebrated the upcoming arrival of baby Turner with a luncheon, fellowship, and gifts. We are so thankful for the Turner family and we rejoice alongside them.
Thank you to everyone who prepared food, the young ladies who assisted with decorating, Angel for the hand painted banner, and a special thank you to Mrs. Kari Owen’s for sharing her gift for design and event planning to bless the church family. It really was a beautiful afternoon celebrating a new blessing.
