Derek S. shared a few scriptures from a "BIG" Bible he recently uncovered. What a joy! Sunday morning service 5/31/26. The cover might be a little "dusty", but it's whats inside that counts!

Yesterday's, 5/31/26 Youth Moment was a special one! Norma shared an old Betty Crocker cookbook and explained how recipes help us make good food, just as God's Word gives us the "recipes" for living a faithful life. She reminded the children that when we follow God's instructions, He helps guide us in the right direction. To help illustrate the lesson, each child received a homemade chocolate chip cookie to enjoy.

Yesterday, 5/31/2026 Pastor Chad shared a message from the Book of Jonah. Before the sermon, we enjoyed a short Veggie Tales clip about Jonah and the Whale that helped introduce the lesson. Thank you, Pastor Chad, for reminding us that God's mercy, grace, and second chances are available to all who turn to Him.

The story of Book of Jonah isn’t just about a man and a big fish…it’s about us.

Jonah ran from what God was calling him to do. Not because he didn’t believe… but because he didn’t want to. He was uncomfortable. He didn’t agree. He didn’t think the people of Nineveh deserved grace.

And if we’re honest, how often do we do the same?

We run from hard conversations.
We avoid forgiveness.
We ignore the quiet nudge to do what’s right because it’s inconvenient, uncomfortable, or just plain hard.

But Jonah’s story reminds us:
Even in our running… God still pursues.
Even in our mess… God still provides.
Even in our resistance… God still calls.

The storm didn’t come to destroy Jonah…it came to redirect him.

And in today’s world, it can feel like we’re surrounded by storms…division, stress, uncertainty, hurt. It’s easy to point fingers, to decide who is “worthy” of kindness, grace, or understanding.

But God didn’t just care about Jonah. He cared about Nineveh too.

That’s the hard part of this story.

God’s grace isn’t selective like ours tends to be.

So maybe the question for us today isn’t:
“Where is God calling me to go?”

Maybe it’s:
“Where am I resisting… and why?”

And what would happen if we stopped running?
