Maria Woodworth-Etter (1844–1924) was a powerful American holiness and Pentecostal evangelist whose ministry became known for salvation, healing, visions, trances, and dramatic manifestations of the Holy Spirit. Rising from hardship and personal loss, she began preaching at a time when women ministers were often rejected, yet thousands came to hear her in camp meetings, tents, churches, and revival gatherings across the United States. Her meetings were marked by strong calls to repentance, faith in Christ, divine healing, and the baptism and power of the Holy Ghost. Woodworth-Etter became one of the most influential female revivalists of her era, helping bridge the Holiness movement and early Pentecostalism
