Inviting someone to church should be the easiest thing in the world. Who wouldn’t want to come hear the good news? And yet there are so many reasons that Christians don’t invite their family, coworkers, neighbors and friends to experience a weekly worship service. In a study done by Barna, they spoke to individuals who where unchurched and non-Christian. The results were S.H.O.C.K.I.N.G.

• Most of the unchurched prefer to attend church on Sunday morning if they do attend.
• Most of the unchurched feel guilty about not attending church.
• Ninety-six percent of the unchurched are at least somewhat likely to attend church if they are invited.
• Very few of the unchurched had someone share with them how to become a Christian.
• Most of the unchurched have a positive view of pastors, ministers and the church.

The purpose of praise and worship is to exalt God by putting our entire focus on him. Worshipers express their love, gratitude, and thankfulness to God for all He that he has done. When we worship the Lord, we remove our eyes from our own problems and we put our trust in God alone. As we recognize the greatness of God, we are lifted up and encouraged in the process.
