Mary our Mother , pray for us! 🌹❤️

It feels good to be Catholic in October. 🌹🤍

October is the Month of the Rosary, and we have so many reasons to stay close to Our Lady. As we turn to her in prayer this month, let’s especially remember the men and women discerning God’s call to the priesthood, consecrated life, and marriage.

Every Rosary is an opportunity to entrust their discernment to Mary, asking her to lead them closer to her Son and give them the courage to say yes to His will.

Let’s fill October with Rosaries for more holy vocations! 🙏

Comment ROSARY and we’ll send you our Immaculate Heart Prayer for Vocations!

The Church celebrates in some way every aspect of the Divine Work – of creation, redemption, sanctification, and glorification. One aspect is the existence of spiritual creatures whom we call angels. The Church celebrates the Feast of the Guardian Angels on October 2.

All angels are in the presence of the Beatific Vision, worshipping God. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus said, “See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that in heaven their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.”

Further, guardian angels help us throughout our lives. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches,

From its beginning until death, human life is surrounded by [the angels’] watchful care and intercession. Beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading him to life. Already here on earth the Christian life shares by faith in the blessed company of angels and men united in God.

The angels help us in many ways, such as often protecting us from physical danger. More importantly, however, angels can help us in regard to sin. St. John Bosco said, “When tempted, invoke your angel. He is more eager to help you than you are to be helped! Ignore the devil and do not be afraid of him: he trembles and flees at the sight of your guardian angel.”

Also, angels help us at the end of our lives. St. Alphonsus Liguori said, “The powers of hell will assail the dying Christian, but his guardian angel will come to console him. His patrons, and St. Michael, who has been appointed by God to defend his faithful servants in their last combat with the devils, will come to his aid.”

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Archangels (Sept 29). What a joy to honor the three great archangels named in Scripture: Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael.

Michael (“Who is like God?”) is the warrior and protector. He leads the heavenly armies, casts down the dragon (Rev 12), and stands as our defender against the powers of darkness.

Gabriel (“God is my strength”) is the messenger of the Most High. He appears to Daniel, to Zechariah, and—most gloriously—to the Virgin Mary, announcing the Incarnation.

Raphael (“God heals”) is the companion and healer. In the Book of Tobit he guides young Tobias, drives out the demon, and restores sight to the blind—showing that God’s care reaches even the ordinary journeys of our lives.

Three names. Three missions. One Lord who commands them for our good.

Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, pray for us.

Today in Saint Louis, Missouri, Venerable Fulton Sheen was beatified. Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle presided as the representative of Pope Leo XIV, joined by bishops, priests, and tens of thousands of the faithful at The Dome at America's Center.

Blessed Fulton Sheen, pray for us.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.
