This is one of those VERY SPECIAL and UNIQUE posts that we get to post, on behalf of the Asbury United Methodist Church Trustees in Brownsburg, Virginia

The pictures stand for themselves! The Church Bell was assessed today and is in much better condition than we all imagined! Great Job Asbury Ancestors!

The old Church Bell will once again RING, after being silent for ~50 years. We all can't wait and we’re so excited to learn this just a few hours ago.

The bell has a diameter of 18 inches and is about 14 inches tall.

Enjoy the photos.... (you'll see two Trustees in the photos: JR Rife and Doug Stevenson)

VERY EXCITING Latest Updates:

I'll let the pictures stand on their own - great progress Team and Brownsburg Community!

We're nearing the Finish Line for The Betty Brown and Friends Fellowship Hall - super exciting to realize this incredible progress in a short amount of time. This speaks volumes about the importance of this project!

Most importantly, this is about the Asbury History and Congregation: past, present, and future.

Finally, we're well prepared to host the Historic Lexington Foundation Fall meeting coming Sunday, September 28th at Asbury and enjoy food and drinks following at the B&B following the HLF meeting. The Brownsburg, Virginia museum will be a nice highlight to this event! A Heartfelt THANK YOU to for their amazing support!!!

Congratulations Asbury and Brownsburg, Virginia - we're all proud to provide such amazing value to the broader community!

Gratefully,

The Asbury Trustees

President of Asbury Trustees JR Rife, Trustee Doug Stevenson, and several volunteers (Paul & Nancy Hahn, Bill & Billy McGough, and Fred Whipple; local resident and Air Force Veteran were on hand to Thank members of the Military Officers Association of America ['MOAA'] for several reasons; 1). their direct support in the solemn wreath laying ceremony at the Asbury Church Cemetery; Vern Lochausen, Greg Shear, Rich Hastings, Mark Bryant, Bob Hopkins, and Fred Whipple, and 2). Thanking Mr. Dennis Bussey for supporting the recent cleaning of 61 headstones (in 1-day!).

The overall theme, fittingly was service;
-Service to our country for those Veterans, who honorably served and were laid to rest at the Asbury Cemetery
-Service to our country for the Veterans in the room - about 90 in total (mainly Military Leaders)
-Service to our Community; including the Asbury Church Trustees and Volunteers
