I attempted to put my sermon on Facebook today. I am not sure that it is going to work.
Read Micah 6:1-8 and 1 Corinthians 1:18=31
What does God want from Us?
As human beings we have a choice to make. We can chose to give our lives to Jesus allowing Him to wash us white as snow with the
blood He shed upon the cross for each of us OR we can go on our own merry way doing what we want.
We must remember that God had to punish the Israelites over and over for them not loving Him and obeying Him. He got tired of their worthless sacrifices and decided it was time. He came to earth in the form of a tiny baby who we know as Jesus. He sent Jesus for our salvation. Jesus died upon the cross once and for all for all of us so that we could feel the happiness and joy walking in the life God wants for each of us.
As Christians what does God want from us? He wants our love. We need to love God in return. In loving God, we can love others.
He wants our kindness. We are to show everyone kindness and respect. There are people we may not be comfortable with. We can still smile and move on. There are people who may get on our last nerve. We need to be kind. In order to do what God wants we need to pray for the person. Pray that God's love will be felt within them. We need to show all our kindness. Right now there are so many ways to do that. Check on one another. Call. Give warm blankets and outerwear. Pray, Pray, Pray!!
God also expects humbleness from us. We are not always right. I know it is hard to believe. We make mistakes and we sin, but we ask God to forgive us.
God gave us the ability as humans to make choices. You have two--chose God and follow him OR don't chose God and go your own way. I chose God. He loves me and He has forgiven me for thosse sins I have committed and will commit because I know I am not perfect. Jesus is returning to this earth one day soon. It may be today, tomorrow or after we have died. We need to make sure our life is right with God. He gave his son, Jesus, to die for us. His blood covers each of us if we ask for forgiveness. Are you prepared for Jesus' return? If so, great! We can worship God together.
If not, you need to think about your choice. It doesn't matter what you have done. God loves you. Think about your choice. Give your body and soul to God. He loves you.
Remember, love, kindness and humbleness. Pray this week that God helps you to grow in His love, faith and your belief. May God bless each and everyone. Be safe. Have a good week.
