Our world is marked by various forms of brokenness. From disease to disasters and wars, the challenges are evident. There is a lot of pain in this world, but in the beginning of creation, things were not like that. This was not God's design. His design was perfect, and the way we got away from His original plan, was through something that the Bible calls sin. Sin occurs when we deviate from God's plan to follow our desires, resulting in brokenness. Brokenness eventually leads us to death, and death will separate us from God forever. God doesn’t want us to stay in brokenness. He made a way for us to come out of the brokenness we live in so that we can walk in fellowship with him, and that way out is through Jesus. Jesus comes into our brokenness and the death that we deserve for pursuing brokenness, Jesus takes our place and dies on the cross, and His body is broken for us. Three days after that crucifixion, He rose from the dead, making a way out of brokenness.
People try many things to get out of brokenness. Things like religion, s*x, drugs, alcohol, success, education, and relationships, but none of these can get us out of brokenness. The only way out is Jesus, and if we turn off our sins, and believe that Jesus died for us and rose from the dead, we can leave brokenness and grow in a relationship with God in pursuing God's perfect plan for us. More than that, we can go like Jesus, back into brokenness, to help others just like Jesus to pursue God’s design.
There are two kinds of people, there are those who are pursuing God’s design, and there are those who are still in brokenness. We have to ask ourselves, where do you think you are? Still living in brokenness or with those pursuing God’s will.
“Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near; (Isaiah 55:6)
“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)
