Luke 9:23, Jesus said to them, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
Men of Christ - United is a non-denominational fraternity of Christian men and men seeking Jesus Christ who provide fellowship to each other, service to the Church and its membership, and an outreach to the community and youth. Men of Christ - United understands that men
, women, and youth need a positive Christian male influence in order for them to emerge as Christian husbands and fathers, wives and mothers, brothers and sisters, and members and leaders of the community. Our guiding Bible verse is PSALM 68:5 which reads, “A father to the fatherless, defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling.”
The Men of Christ was inspired by a ministry created in the Fall of 2006 as a result of personal devotions given at a men’s breakfast. The Men of Christ - United includes all the men of all Christian churches. We believe that we are to be lead by God and work together to bring about God’s will and thus do not have officers (1 Samuel 8). As an idea is put forward, the men will discuss it and decide if it will be pursued. If pursued, usually the man putting forth the idea will lead the task with assistance from other men/women. If not immediately pursued, it will be prayed over and discussed at a later meeting. Our events seem to always revolve around Faith, Fellowship, Service, Food, and Fun. The Men of Christ - United has accomplished many deeds over the years from helping members of the church and community with repairs to their homes through “Men with Toolbelts” to ministry at community events and tent revivals (James 2:17). Many events held or helped by the Men of Christ - United over the years include annual Rays’ Game, annual Yard Sale, Backpack drives and The Matthew Project for homeless children, annual “Love Your Neighbor” Thanksgiving Dinner, church work days, annual Easter breakfast, Church picnics, Men’s outings, Men’s Retreat, Men’s Bible Studies, Joseph House, VBS, mission trips, Farming for Families, annual Christmas Bonfire/Hayride/Caroling, Kiwanis Christmas Parade Float, and much more. We desire to unite churches so we may enhance our service to the Body of Christ. The Men of Christ - United will continue to be a source of fellowship and volunteerism within the Body of Christ and community.
