New Journey Church

New Journey Church A Contemporary, Non-denominational, "Purpose-Driven" church in Brooksville, Florida. Come worship with us at 10 AM Sunday mornings.

"come as you are" -- casual dress code. We use a band to lead us in singing contemporary worship and praise songs. No one is going to shout at you during the messages (although the pastor does get excited occasionally) We start worship each Sunday at 10 AM but if you come around 9:30 you can have a cup of coffee.

Yesterday, our church family voted to close. Our attendance has been dwindling and even though we survived the restrictions of a pandemic, we feel like our time together has come to an end. It is sad but we believe God is in this.

We will become "organ donors" and all of our stuff will be given to a new church start here in our state. As individuals we will take what God has done in us and join ourselves to other churches where we can continue to worship, grow and serve.

Please pray for us in this time of transition. Our last Sunday on Facebook will be this coming Sunday 4/24. Our last meeting will be in May.

Thank you for your prayers over the past 17+ years. We have been able to touch many lives for Jesus. That's how we measure success.

At this juncture Pastor Greg is announcing his retirement from pastoral ministry - As our ministry is never finished until we are called Home, he will still find ways to serve - it will just be in a different capacity.

Toiletry Collection!

NJC is glad to be partnering with local shelters, halfway houses, unhomed communities, and the parole offices to supply toiletries to our neighbors in need. Please bring any of the following with you to worship on Sunday:
Toothpaste, toothbrushes, and floss
Soap, shampoo, conditioner
Hand sanitizer and sunscreen
Feminie products
Deodorant, disposable razors, and washcloths.

Need to drop off? Message us and we can coordinate a time and location. The church building is not staffed throughout the week.

Stuffed Toy Drive!

We are collecting stuffed animals to brighten the day of local children in shelters. As these children are often transient, please keep the size small enough to fit in a shoebox. Toys should be new and unused.

Bring them to worship on Sunday or message us to arrange a drop-off. The church building is not staffed throughout the week.

Good morning and welcome to Worship.
Our worship service will not be cast live on Facebook this morning as we mourn the death of our Worship Leader, Leeann Champagne. It is a tough time for all of use on the worship team. We'll be back next week.

Here we have provided some notes taken from today's message. You are invited to read, ponder and pray of these thoughts and scriptures.

We wish you a blessed Christmas. We are all finding fresh blessings even in these tough times.

**MESSAGE NOTES December 20, 2020**
"Christmas Love"

1.) The story of Christmas is the beginning of the story of SACRIFICE.

-But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8 NLT
-God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 1 John 4:9-10 NLT

2.) God also demands that WE possess that same kind of love.

-Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love has been brought to full expression through us. 1 John 4:11 NLT
-We know what real love is because Christ gave up his life for us. And so we also ought to give up our lives for our Christian brothers and sisters. 1 John 3:16 NLT

3.) Christmas love is about today, and about the people around you.

-If someone says, "I love God," but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don't love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we have not seen? And God himself has commanded that we must love not only him but our Christian brothers and sisters, too. 1 John 4:20-21 NLT
-So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples. John 13:34-35 NLT
-Dear children, let us stop just saying we love each other; let us really show it by our actions. 1 John 3:18 NLT

Our annual Christmas Eve Service has been cancelled this year. Our Leadership Team is working through the death of our Worship and Music Leader. We hope you will use this season to draw closer to God and draw closer in spirit to family and friends.
Jesus is our Reason for the Season and we pray that His Light shines for you this Christmas.
