Every summer, something special happens at Brooksville Methodist. Kids show up a little nervous, leave a little braver, and carry something home that lasts way longer than a week.

This June, we're headed to Rainforest Falls β€” exploring the nature of God through adventure, friendship, and fun. 🌿🌊

We are called to work for God's glory in this world! Let's look for opportunities to serve others this week, not for recognition but because God has called us to.

As you serve this week remember:

The spotlight builds your reputation; the shadows build your character.

Something to sit with this week. He doesn't need usβ€”but He wants us. Do we want Him just as much?

"The irony is that while God doesn't need us but still wants us, we desperately need God but don't really want Him most of the time." β€” Francis Chan

Monday Morning Devotion!

This morning I wanted to reflect on how the disciples were first called to BE WITH Jesus before they were sent to DO anything. Far too often we focus in our busy lives on what we do. We always ask "what do you do for work" when we meet someone. We wrap up a LOT of our self-worth in what we do. One of the risks for Christians is we can become hypocrites when we focus too much on what we think we ought to do and don't put equal (if not more) weight on who we are in Christ. The character we develop should be what drives the work we do. The disciples were called first to be with Jesus so they could build relationship with him, watch him, and learn to be like him. They weren't given instructions first, they were offered a relationship with the living God first! Jesus invites us to be present with him--the LIVING GOD--first. This can also apply in our lives. With our Children, our spouse, and our friends, prioritizing presence before productivity. What would change if you prioritized presence over productivity today?

Who in your life needs a little extra grace today?

"We must learn to regard people less in light of what they do or omit to do, and more in the light of what they suffer."
