September is here—and with it come cooler days, kids heading back to school, Labor Day, the Blue Hill Fair…and National Sewing Month!

So, in celebration, WBCC is getting out the sewing machines once again! 🎉
We’re offering THREE FREE WEEKS OF SEWING LESSONS—and you don’t need to know a thing about sewing to join us!

For our first sew, we’ll provide all the materials you need to create a useful AND decorative potholder—something you’ll actually want to use (or give away and impress your friends 😉).

🪡 Don’t have a sewing machine? No worries! We have a limited number available for you to use. What better way to find out if sewing might just be your thing?

Whether you’re a seasoned stitcher, a curious beginner, or someone who has always wanted to learn, come give it a try!

Faith Is a Verb
What if faith isn’t just something we have—but something we do?
That’s the question we’re exploring together at West Brooksville Congregational Church as Pastor Kim leads us through our Bible study, “Faith as a Verb.”
Faith calls us to move, to listen, to serve, to forgive, to love—and sometimes, simply to take the next step even when we can’t see the whole path ahead.
Join us Thursday evenings at 6:30 as we open Scripture, share our thoughts, and consider what it means to put our faith into action in our everyday lives.
📖 Faith is more than a noun. Faith is a verb.
Come as you are. Bring your questions, your thoughts, and your faith—wherever you are on the journey.
All are welcome!

A special thanks to all who helped, donated, shopped at our Super Summer Sale this past Saturday - without the support of the entire community we couldn’t have made the event a success - lots of work, joyous laughter, greeting old friends and making new - made the event a huge success. So much going on this week! Let’s start by inviting everyone to our Community Hymn Sing, Wednesday, August 12th @ 7:00 with Matthew Smedal accompanying the singing. No one is judging your singing voice - come, make a joyful noise - refreshments following!

Congratulations are in order to Ryan Howard, son of Caryn and David, for passing the Coast Guard exam and is now a licensed engineer! For those unfamiliar with the Coast Guard exam, it consists of multiple modules over a series of days. Well done, Ryan!

What a wonderful time was had while hosting the 5K Race and Community Breakfast yesterday! We welcomed over 300 guests for breakfast while greeting them smiles - the signature for the day.

One may think that we’re sitting back for a bit, but no! We have upcoming events this month as well as we celebrate 200 years of faith and service to our community.

Wednesday, August 12 @ 7:00 p.m. we are hosting a community hymn sing followed by light refreshments in our fellowship hall.

Thursday, August 13 @ 6:30, lest you think faith is only a noun - think again! Faith is a verb - join us for a 3 week study, either in the fellowship hall or by zoom.

Saturday, August 15 - 8:00 - Noon - the annual Super Summer Sale event - baked goods, white elephant items, toys, bikes, books, HO scale trains - something for everyone - a must attend event.
