JHMC Media John Hus Moravian Church is a Brooklyn, New York, based congregation that makes every effort to minister to the hearts of our people. Come as you are.

John Hus Moravian Church is a Brooklyn, New York, based congregation affiliated to the World-wide Moravian Unity through the Northern Province of the United States of America. We are situated in the heart of Brooklyn and make every effort to minister to the hearts of our people. Our congregation started in 1966 with a clear goal of making Jesus known. From our early beginnings at Franklin Avenue t

o our present home, we have focused on a worship experience that is uplifting and a fellowship that is warm and receptive. Although we are a traditional church in the sense of origin, our worship services have evolved to incorporate elements of contemporary worship while preserving those essential elements of our customs and traditions. Each service is planned with the expressed intention of bringing joy to each person present while providing an atmosphere and context for serious reflection and introspection. The ultimate prayer is that all will be saved and therefore we are doing our part in our corner, by the grace of God, to facilitate this process. It is for that reason that we are inviting you to become a part of the John Hus Family. There are activities for each age group which attempt to address the special needs typical of our stages of development. Our facilities are modern and are consistently being improved. The Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall are accessible to the physically challenged, and we have all the literature and basic items that you will need for worship. There is a place for you and your family at John Hus Moravian. Our Doors, Hearts and Arms are always wide open.

Friday, May 29 — Psalm 69:30–36
Numbers 16:28–17:13; Mark 14:43–52

I know, O LORD, that the way of humans is not in their control. Jeremiah 10:23

The rich man said, “And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.” But God said to him, “You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?” Luke 12:19-20

Sovereign God, our lives are in your hands. Teach us to trust in your wisdom rather than our own plans. Keep us from relying on what fades and lead us to seek what is lasting—your love and your truth. Amen.

Who is like you, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in splendor, doing wonders? Exodus 15:11

Indeed, even though there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth—as in fact there are many gods and many lords—yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist. 1 Corinthians 8:5-6

God of wonder, there truly is no one like you. You are strong and kind; the one true source of life. Help us honor you in all we do. Let our words and actions show our trust in you each day. Amen.
