Love isn’t what we watch in Hallmark movies or the arguably more enjoyable Netflix Rom Coms, especially the ones that take place in Aldovia and Belgravia. Love is so much more than a Rom Com, even a good one.

Love is the fundamental frequency of the universe.

It's also the lens Jesus used to read scripture. So, using the Bible to justify hate, exclusion, and harm is a complete misinterpretation of Jesus, Hillel, the Qur’an, the Gita, and so many other sacred texts that insist *love is the point.*

Where in your life are you most challenged to act with love—and what might change if you did?

Here’s one of the growing number of things that drive me nuts: misinterpreting the Bible.

At The Current, we practice different ways to connect with God. This week, Hugh leads us in the ancient and wonderful practice of Lectio Divina, a slow, reflective way of reading sacred text that makes room for silence, questions, and surprise.

Together we listen for what the words stir in us now—not what we were told they “should” mean, but trusting that the same creative Love that birthed the cosmos is still speaking (and experiencing) through us.

I've had many requests to post our "worship" service, but have resisted because a major portion of it is a very deep, often personal discussion within the congregation. But, at their urging, I will begin to post the services with our discussion portion cut out to maintain the safe space that The Current is.
